My husband and I were here last week. The fish and chips were from this world and they were gluten-free. The quality of the fish was sensational. Although it was a super hot day and the only place to sit was outside, it was worth it for food. Type of meal: Lunch Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 3 View all feedback.
What Elcycad (Elcycad) doesn't like about Hammerhead's:
The lady behind the counter was friendly but was hesitant to recommend anything else besides the fish/chips when asked. We decided on the calamari. The fish/chips was good enough but I’d skip the strips of calamari next time as it was a bit overcooked and chewy. View all feedback.

A rare treat! Truly celiac safe, delicious, great service and a load of choice on the menu. My partner is not gf and absolutely loved his meal. I will drive out to Hamilton lots now, I've finally found good gf chips!!! The fish was superb, everything about it was just excellent.Dietary restrictions: Perfectly safe for celiacs
I visited this restaurant after seeing some delicious pictures on Facebook, and it did not disappoint! The haddock and chips were the best I've ever had. The service was very polite, and they also have outdoor seating available when the weather is nice.
The fish here is among the best I’ve ever tasted—freshly cooked to order! The chips were perfectly salted, and they even had malt vinegar available, which made this Brit very happy! There are a few outdoor seats if you prefer to dine al fresco. Given the delicious flavor, the price was quite reasonable at $35 CAD for three large pieces of fish, a generous box of chips, and a big tub of coleslaw. Parking is available on the street but is metered.
I've consistently enjoyed excellent fish and chips here, along with top-notch service. Recently, they went above and beyond to help this wandering Newfoundlander by securing Bonavista snow crab for my birthday gathering, allowing all my friends from the mainland to savor this treat from my hometown. I'll always remember that gesture. As an East Coaster who knows seafood well, I can confidently say that this place is the real deal!
