What Georgiana Thompson doesn't like about Diner 66:
It was a cute little place, service was great. Menu had a lot of options, but I expected it to be cheaper. Food wasn't very good at all. I ordered a poutine and garlic bread with cheese. The poutine average, and the garlic bread and cheese just seemed like something they bought out of the frozen food grocery isle.Service was friendly, but I did have to repeat my order many times (because the waitress wasn't paying at... Wimpys used to be a great greasy spoon. It was never amazing, but always quality food with a decent price. Now, though, the food I got was so awful it wasn't worth eating. And the prices have jumped to the high end. My wife got breakfast, I got lunch. My wife's pancakes were dry and had a solid crust that was hard to cut through. The sausage was obviously cooked the previous day and thrown in a deep fryer to warm it up see the pictures. The wimpys burger was in the past a staple. Huge and flopping over the bun, it was greasy, but a real patty. Today it was a processed patty, squeezed and pressed, and cooked so that it was so dry it hurt to chew it. All in all, wimpys lost its heart. It's a soulless husk of what it used to be, and that's a rea
My family and I went to the diner around 4:30 p.m. this past Friday for the all you can eat fish and chips dinner. We chose this location because there is free parking right next to the diner and it is close to our home. Although there weren't many people there initially, we were hungry and wanted to eat early that night. The price had gone up to $11.49 each, a 28% increase from last year, but we still decided to give it a try. Our oval plates arrived with 3 large pieces of haddock on top of the fries. We requested side dishes to place our fish on to make it more comfortable to enjoy our fries. The fish seemed a bit greasier than last time, but still tasted good. The fries were delicious. The service was friendly and efficient. Shortly afterwards, the diner became much busier.

We went to Wimpy's Diner on Barton St. East in Stoney Creek with a group of friends on Fri. June 30th for their all you can eat fish chips dinner priced at $9.99 per person. I have to admit that we were skeptical. Will it be a cheaper cut of fish, or will there be some limitations? Our skepticism quickly dissipated when we were told that the fish is haddock. We ordered very much to our surprise, two very large pieces of fish arrived on our plates. They were so large that it was difficult to season our chips get to them. The fish the fries were GR8! I had one more piece just could not eat a single bite more. Others in our group had many more pieces of fish. Our waitress told us that some folks come in have 8 10 pieces of fish. The Wimpy's menu had many other different varieties of food, but we were there for the fish chips. I don't know if all Wimpy's locations have this, but the Stoney Creek location has the $9.99 F C special each Wednesday each Friday. Some of the folks in our group told us that their different breakfasts are also very good.
