Had a Sunday lunch here with my parent, to give them an authentic Hamburg meal. This place is lovely - beautiful place, backing up to the Jenisch Park, which is a lovely English - landscape park. The service was very friendly and not at all intrusive and the meal delicious. I had the (seasonal - local) asparagus salad and my parent the Schafskase salad. Very delicious, light and great seasoning. Overall, awesome experience!
This is one of those places that is so good, you don't want to tell anybody about it. We went there twice in one week. There were four of us the first night and eight of us the second We had no problem getting seated either. We tried the schnitzel, the ham, the goulash, the pasta (the owner/chef is Italian), the cucumber salad, the roasted potatoes, pommes frits, the steak, the mushrooms and and everything was hot, fresh and delicious. The menu was different each night, although there were apparently some staples. The was friendly and efficient..It seems off the beaten path near the Blankenese are and well worth looking for.
Open 7 days a week this is paradise if you like local northern german food. great menu with home made dishes. nice and personal service and not to forget: "koenigspilsner" on draft. you will not get this fine german pils served better anywhere else. fresh and in any way the way it should be! outstanding.if you like fresh beer, YOU will come back!!!in summer outdoor garden-heavenly!
Met up with friends for a quick dinner and enjoyed some very generous portions of good traditional German food. Schnitzels covered the plate they were served on and were accompanied by a zingy fresh cucumber salad and huge pot of bratkartoffeln between two. The stables atmosphere is fun but also comfortable and welcoming. This is not a shed as the stable theme might imply. we will definitely go again and would heartily recommend to others.
