Dat Backhus delivered in an impress... read more Fantastic bakery Cafe with great coffee. I wandered out of my hotel looking for somewhere to get a perfect German breakfast. Dat Backhus delivered in an impressive way. Not only was the cheese roll perfect, the coffee was stunning AND I couldn't resist a cinnamon pastry with hazelnuts to takeaway and eat on the train (as per the photo proof! . Lovely atmosphere too, with window seats to watch Hamburg life go by. I've spent a lot of time in independent coffee shops and one way you can tell a good one is their interactions with customers. Lots of regulars came through the door and were happily chatting with the staff.
