Sometimes it's absolutely worth walking a bit further than the ordinary tourists do. Whenever I am a guide for Hamburg newbies Alsterperle is definitely among the top places to go. This is where Hamburgers chill out after work or on the weekends having a...drink in the sun, eating a Bratwurst and enjoying the astonishing view at the city center. The bar is a converted toilet house directly next to the Alster lake about a minute walk away very enjoyable from the main station. There is outside sitting only, thus you should go when the weather is nice. In winter you will probably rather have mulled wine, in summer Beer or Aperol Spritz. Its great sitting on the river bank or just on the surrounding lawn, having a drink, enjoying the view watching the joggers run past
