The atmosphere was lively, the service was excellent,... read more We rented the bowling alley at the Ankerhof for our Christmas party and ordered the buffet from Saalekahn. The atmosphere was lively, the service was excellent, and the cocktails were okay. But the food was probably the worst you can find in Halle. The mushroom soup tasted quite strange and caused severe diarrhea, the croquettes were swimming in oil, the only vegetarian dishes were contaminated with smoky flavoring, and the vegetables were mushy and bland. Basically, only the meat was edible, which isn't saying much when you buy it as a ready-made product and just keep it warm. Everything was basically frozen. Your cooks should all be fired, assuming any of them even have any training in this field. For €45 per person, we'll be better off reserving enough tables at the Alchemistenklause well in advance next time. Thanks for nothing. Never again Saalekahn.

The woman at reception was very unfriendly when we asked about bowling at 4:00 PM, but unfortunately, no one was there. As for the food, it was almost cold... the peas had absolutely no taste... the salsify was crunchy... the chicken was dead twice... I don't know who's cooking there... it was awful... I wouldn't recommend it and I wouldn't eat there again.

Even though the place was quite empty that night, the waiter went above and beyond – incredibly efficient, very attentive, and made sure everyone got their food at the same time. It worked out perfectly! The menu is concise but very well put together. All the dishes are freshly prepared, and you can taste the difference. The drinks selection is a perfect match. If you like a nautical atmosphere, you'll definitely be happy here – it almost feels like you're on vacation. It's especially nice in the summer because you can sit outside on the small terrace right by the Saale River. I always enjoy coming here and simply love the delicious food. Highly recommended!

Friendly staff and a quaint location. Unfortunately, the chefs failed. They must have never learned their craft. The Steinbeiser ragout tasted a bit soggy. The potatoes and vegetables (probably Frosta) were absolutely tasteless. They were also served almost cold. It was a similar story with my wife's trout. The price-performance ratio isn't right at all.... The somewhat expensive Tucher beer on tap was OK!
