Was staying close to this spot and decided to go in for a lunch. Had the wings and have to say these were the best wings I have ever had anywhere, plump, crispy and well sauced. We liked these so much we went back two more times during our visit to Halifax . View all feedback.
What User doesn't like about The Halifax Alehouse:
My friend (1) was in line last night when the bouncer told another one of our friends (2) that she "could afford to get in if she paid her taxes on time". Friend (1) then responded, "you should be a comedian". The bouncers immediately put him in a chokehold and refused to let him go, despite the fact that he only had a few drinks. At this point, he wasn't in the bar, he was still in the street. For 5 minutes, he didn... View all feedback.
The Ale House brings back positive memories from past years and I have been fortunate to avoid the late-night shenanigans some of my fellow Yelpers have...
A great place for late night drinks, some industry people recommended it to us. It started to get really busy around 1am, great live music and fun times!
Waitress said they have to pay the establishment if they are not tipped, and feel pressured to ask why they don't receive a tip (yes, we did tip).
We arrived at the Halifax Alehouse 9pm Sunday night, looking for Karaoke. We were greeted by some very friendly bartenders! They told us it started at midnight, we were sure if we could make it til then, but we did and it was so worth it! The drinks are poured nice and chill, the beer is great and the cider on tap is amazing! They have an awesome deal $16.99 for draft and wings... The wings, OMG the wings are absolutely amazing! Super juciy and perfectly crunchy, and if you like heat, this is the spot to get them. We have never been taken down by a wing (even after several wing challenges between Canada and the US, and this place has finally taken us down. Flavor is amazing, but finishing them is a different story... Great job mr chef!!! :DSunday night Karaoke, it goes til 3:30 am, and the man who does it is great! He has a wide selection to choose from, and he is a great singer as well! The bartenders get in on the fun,(Donnie rocks!!!) and they do an amazing job! It was awesome to see how hopping this place was after 12:30/1:00am on a Sunday, It is a must visit!
We stopped in on our first night in Halifax and had a an early family dinner. The building is old and historic, and the ambiance inside was fun and old-timey. Our waitress was dressed in an old-fashioned bar-maid dress. The food was decent and we took advantage of a great appetizer and pitcher of Keith's special. As it turned out, we didn't make it to the Keith's brew tour, but we felt that between the costumes and the beer, we had a taste of the experience at the Alehouse.
