What Anonym dislikes about Shawarma Stop:
I have been trying to find a chicken shawarma in Halifax that comes close to those on every corner in Ottawa and this was almost it. The chicken itself and the garlic sauce were very good but then came the hummus - a standard with a shawarma platter - and it was a disappointment in terms of both texture and taste. A small take out style restaurant, I was pleasantly surprised when the waitress/clerk came over to ask i... View all feedback.

I highly recommend this place in Halifax for fast food. It is one of the best I have tried. Be sure to try the chicken shawarma and the cheese grilled cheese.
This restaurant is family-owned by Tony's family, who were among the first to introduce traditional Lebanese cuisine to Halifax. Located on Argyle St, just three doors down from this shop, they uphold their legacy of serving delicious hand-made shawarma and the best hummus I've ever tasted!
I have eaten at each of their locations several times. Every time, every bite was delicious. I'm not sure what they put in their bean salad but it's not normally my thing and yet I couldn't stop eating it. So good and the customer service has always been top notch.
This was my first chicken shawarma. It was delicious and the service was top notch. Thank you tony. Great food. I will be back man
Great place. Friends of mine and I came in at closing one night did not realize they closed so early. We were not only welcomed into the store and only partway through ordering informed that they closed at 8 (it was 8:05), but invited to stay and eat our food in. The food was excellent, the hummus was some of the best I've ever had. Will definitely be back!

The place is clean and relatively new for a Shawarma place, but it could be more generous on the meat and food in general, and the meat was not seasoned. The fact that the place was empty at noon on a weekday can have a reason.
Honestly, I cannot describe in words how wonderful the Donair is!!! Our first morning in Nova Scotia we stopped at Farmers Markets and met Tony and his father, they were a pleasure!! Truly one of the best things this Arkansas girl has ever eaten!!! Get Donair! Thanks for Tony!!!
I tried to order delivery from the Argyle Street location through JustEat.ca tonight. After making the order, I got a call from JustEat's 877 number, telling me that Shawarma Stop has no delivery driver on tonight, but I'm welcome to come pick the food up. Also, they're out of cucumber, olives and red onion. I say sure, I can drive down and we can do without those veggies. The employee who suggested I drive down neglected to mention that there is a huge amount of construction in downtown tonight. I was stuck in traffic circling around downtown for about an hour before I finally gave up and headed home. When I arrived home, I called to let Shawarma Stop know I wouldn't be able to pick up the order. As it was their suggestion I drive down, and as they didn't warn me about the traffic (which was very visible from their location--I had to drive slowly down Argyle several times while I was circling), I thought it fair to request a refund. The man on the phone told me he couldn't give me a refund, but that the manager would be in tomorrow. I asked him to write a note about the refund for the manager. He refused, telling me he would see the manager tomorrow. I explained that I was concerned the refund might be forgotten about once business opened for the day tomorrow, and I would prefer a note be left. The employee continued to refuse. I tried to explain that I felt I had had very poor service tonight, as I would never have tried to drive down for pickup if they had not suggested I do so, without informing me about the traffic issues. He tried repeatedly to interrupt me and then hung up on me. As I still wanted a note to be left, I called back. I was on my cell phone hitting the same number that I had called before. The next time he picked up, he told me I had the wrong number when I asked if it was Shawarma Stop, and hung up on me again. I called back a third time, rather confused. This time he didn't claim it was a wrong number, and finally left a note, but was extremely standoffish about it. When I said that I planned to leave bad reviews for Shawarma Stop if I did not get a refund, he hung up on me again. I called one last time, to ask for his name so I can complain to the manager about him tomorrow. He yelled at me that he would not give me his name and hung up on me again. Needless to say, I will never be ordering from them again, and will be leaving this review in multiple places. Wow, they have bad customer service. Wow.
Chicken was dry, shawarma was mostly the bread, very little ingredients used even when I said i wanted everything. I will not be back.
Fresh, tasty, huge, full to flood Shawarma wraps with delicate moist chicken, fresh vegetables and a tasty garlic sauce paired with a water and salad, which is a great lunch. I was really impressed. The guys who prepare your food are sweet, funny and incredibly good looking. I'm definitely back. Thank you for a great experience. Best Shawarma in the City
