Riot Snack Bar - Halifax

Decided to try this place again, the first time being pretty underwhelming, and tried a different burger this time, the chicken burger and didn't even bother to finish it. The burgers here are just not up to par. Service was good, no frills, I like that.The first time i was here was in the winter and it was so cold I had to keep my jacket on.

Located on Quinpool Road, this snack bar offers local freshly cooked, healthy meals that let the customer select gluten free and vegan options. As a result it is a great place from groups of people with all diets. Order a beef burger or a veggie burger, remove the cheese from a chakra bowl and add tofu and you have a well-balanced meal. Portions are ample, tasty and healthy. They offer take out and table service. Well worth a visit.

Popped in for a solo lunch today. The menu is very small but I reckon this is a place that excels at the items they do have. I was not very hungry so I opted for just the "Free Bird" without the side. It was the best chicken burger I've ever had! No lie! The chicken was fresh and crispy. The garlic aioli was flavorful and the perfect condiment for this burger. I was delighted that they carried soy milk since most restaurants do not. I love soy milk so this was a treat. No doubt I will be back & will recommend!

We have driven by this spot numerous times... today we stopped in .... what took us so long.... it was evident that the ingredients are fresh (locally sourced ) I had the daily special (tomato soup with a mini grilled cheese **there was apple in the grilled cheese... oh so good).... my sweetie had the Free Bird.... crispy chicken on an amazing bun.... the house cut fries.... sooooo verrrry goooood... this was our first visit but definitely not our last!

Riot is now my go to restaurant for burgers. We ate here last evening. The food was great.I highly recommend the Riot Burger. The restaurant was full all evening with tables turning over regularly. The wait staff were very attentive but not obtrusive. The apple fritters were excellent. They were out of the gluten free donuts but If they are as good as the fritters, I understand why they were out. I will definitely be back!
