My husband and I are regulars. We enjoy the Thursday night wing night and usually order a side of nachos or potatoe skins. It is not a 5 star restaurant but it's a great little pub, catering to the university crowd. The food is your typical pub food and it's good. Actually the first thing I noticed on arriving tonight was the newly renovated entry. This bar has been a local water hole for decades. Lots of history her... View all feedback.
What User doesn't like about Oasis Pub and Eatery:
This establishment is apparently the oldest pub in Halifax, which was the catalyst for our visit. I'm sitting here with my wife for a pint and the patrons are a Lil shady and a mouse just ran by. Enough said. View all feedback.
Beer pitchers have increased in price so updated to four stars, great spot to grab simple drinks, or if you're an absolute deviant like me, a great spot to grab pre-drinks after pre-drinks, and then go continue drinking at the bar you actually want to be at, and end your night at! Although this place is still great for just casual drinks with friends it has been deteriorating or the last few months!
Its three stars but the bouncers are on power trips. Throwing people out because they are fooling around with friends. And even if you are sober and tell them you disagree with them and walk away they follow trying to pic a fight
My favorite spot in the whole city to go to with a large group of friends for cheap beer, good music, and good vibes. Incredibly friendly staff that go the extra mile for people, which is a culture that most restaurants have lost post-COVID. Tuesday Comedy Night is always awful, but in an endearing way. Thursday Karaoke/Wing nights are the most packed by far, if you're looking for a party night. It's probably the only, and best place by far, for Saturday UFC nights as well. Wish they still served salads, but I wouldn't trade this spot for anything!
Sad to see what has happened to this bar over the years. Sharp decline can only be blamed on management. Played a show there once and they hassled two gals about the men’s room being hotboxed. Seen open dripping pipes and other hellish call signs of a “hole in the ground” bar. But such bars should make up with it from warm service. Not even watered down 11.50 pitchers can save them. Should be noted that they took down their Facebook reviews after getting several poor reviews. Hopefully they shake up management sometime soon and save this bar. Great location could be Halifax’s best spot.
My boyfriend and I are were in Halifax for one night this past weekend and were staying at the Lord Nelson hotel, I had recently seen a Tiktok about the strange paintings at the oasis so suggested we go around the corner and check out the bar. We each had only two drinks and my boyfriend quickly realized something had been slipped in his. We had never left our drinks unattended and had only interacted with the bartender and one guy who approached us to chat, but sat at another table. This was extremely scary and ended up with paramedics being called. We were very shocked something like this could happen to us in such a short amount of time at the bar. Also… Mice are running around all over the place and I was disgusted to later find out they serve food. Please be careful!
