Our party of four were the only diners on a Monday night, which was a little disquieting, but the food and service were excellent. The lamb meatball starter was very sophisticated. The kitchen ditched the blackening spices at my request and seared my tuna just right with a light touch. All impeccable, even if our foursome felt somewhat adrift. View all feedback.

I ordered food that I did not receive, but was still expected to pay for it! The food I did receive was good, but the experience was so awful that I won't go back View all feedback.
I ordered food that never arrived, yet I was still expected to pay for it. The food I did receive was good, but the overall experience was so unpleasant that I have no intention of returning to this restaurant.
Our party of four was the only group dining on a slightly slow Monday night, but the food and service were excellent. The lamb meatball starter was a standout dish. The kitchen accommodated my request to omit black seasoning and served my tuna dish exactly as I wanted it, with a light touch. Everything was impeccable, even though our group of four had differing preferences.
My wife and I decided to give this hidden gem a try. The restaurant is located right on Spring Garden Rd and offers a cozy and intimate dining experience. The menu may be small, but it offers a variety of options to choose from, including meat, seafood, pasta, and vegetarian dishes. We each started with an appetizer, enjoyed a main course, and shared a dessert. Every dish was beautifully presented, perfectly cooked, and incredibly flavorful. The ahi tuna, which I had never tried before, was absolutely delicious and I can't wait to have it again. We visited on a Saturday evening and the restaurant was not too busy, allowing us to have a peaceful dinner conversation without shouting over background noise. My only minor complaint was the kraft paper tablecloth, which I associate more with chain restaurants like Jack Astor's or Montana's. While I understand it may be more environmentally friendly than constantly washing white linen cloths, I personally would prefer no tablecloth at all as the kraft paper tends to feel sticky. Nevertheless, in terms of ambiance, location, value, service, and food quality, this restaurant is definitely one of the best in Halifax and I would recommend it to everyone.
After several friends give me great reviews of this restaurant, I finally decided to try it in the middle-feb. we went after Valentine's Day to miss the mass, although I am sure that this intimate restaurant would have been excellent for Valentine's Day tables well...dreamed and yet cozy and warm. the service here is excellent! contempt, but not above the tip perfect and what is expected, but not always delivered in a fine restaurant. eating of our amazing appies to dessert was well plated and delicious! excellent cocktails! the menu was a harder for me because everything looked good on the menu! I will definitely be back as I have a lot more to try! excited because I am there for work on Saturday night!
Have visited Moda several times it is always an enjoyable experience. Food service atmosphere is as good as it gets in Halifax. I would recommend giving it a try.
