I was looking forward to my first lobster roll in Nova Scotia. It was a tall order as, being in one of the seafood hot spots in the world, my expectations were high.A beautiful, soft but crispy roll came along, stuffed with lobster meat, dressed with a sauce and a lovely refreshing salad. Delicious! Staff were charming and the price was great ($16.00) Does exactly what it says on the tin! View all feedback.
What User doesn't like about Maritime Lobster Shack:
Three seafood lovers went here for lunch. Pleasant server, nice chips, nice toasted bun, but to serve wet, tasteless lobster on top of it is a crime. It should not be difficult to serve a delicious lobster roll but it appears at this place it is. Shame on you charging a premium price for a very substandard product. View all feedback.

The negative review that said its easy to get a good lobster roll has better luck than us. The lobster roll here had twice the flavor and quantity of lobster for half the price of a highly rated seafood restaurant we also had a lobster roll in. Maybe a tad greasy but can you have too much butter in a lobster roll. Its lobster fast food so service and décor are irrelevant.
After browsing and walking around the expansive Seaport Farmer's Market for a couple hours, and with all that fragrant salt air and fish smell affecting your senses, you have to say, "Where can I find the best local seafood, or as a matter of fact, the finest lobster roll?" And sure enough, tucked against one of the Farmer Market's side walls, you will find Maritime Lobster Shack with only counter service. FRESH lobster meat oozing and falling out of a home-made bun is on the menu board: one-half order is $7.50, while an even larger full order is only $12.99. With your choice of either chips or salad, you nowhave your evening meal for a fraction of its usual cost. As I am writing this review looking out of my window across a San Diego canyon, I am vicariously, once again, enjoying every mouthful of my Halifax lobster roll and taking in every whiff of the ocean. Enjoy yours for me!
Located at the end of the market, and under the Goldwater sign, this restaurant offered a special....$15 for a large lobster roll with chips and slaw. The lobster roll had plenty of lobster in it, but having just come from Maine, I'll rate it as very good instead of excellent...After Maine, the bar was way too high. The chips were homemade and excellent. It's cash only, and if you're paying in American dollars, they do not give you the ex the exchange rate, so if you have a few Canadian dollars, you'll do better on price.
I had visited Halifax in the past and had a lobster roll here before. Well the second visit was out of this world. They have upgraded the facility and expanded. They offer two lobster rolls a regular ($15) or a mini ($8.50) each one comes with a choice of spinach salad, slaw or potato chips. Well let me tell you the new owner has raised the bar. I was in there today and there was a lot of people waiting in line but they moved quickly and it was well worth the wait. The name is under the Goldwater seafood banner but just follow the line up or ask the tour bus drivers. If you are here on a cruise ship or a bus tour come in and eat the very best lobster roll you will ever taste
