Jean's Restaurant - Halifax

I ordered takeout from this restaurant and unfortunately had a negative experience. Despite being a loyal customer for 20 years, I still encountered issues with my order. Upon receiving my food, I discovered that the sweet and sour sauce was missing from my dish. I called the restaurant to notify them of the mistake and they promised to deliver the sauce promptly. However, it took 40 minutes for the sauce to arrive, by which time the food was cold and the overall meal was a disappointment.

"The Chinese restaurant is the best. The waitstaff constantly touch the dead plants scattered around. Avoid this place if you don't want to get sick."

I had a combi plate with rice, bark meat and brokkoli and a egg roll. the rice is in order, but the bark meat and broccoli is the worst I have ever experienced, completely slandered and tasteless with their soaking on it. eggroll tasted freezer burned and she forgets my second

If you are hungry and appreciate basic Chinese food look no further than Jean’s for a tasty meal. However if you are looking for gourmet oriental fine dining....avoid! Good price, good service, large portions, no problems!

I guess we were fooled by the reviews. Rated #1 Chinese food in the city by a number of publications? An emphatic NO. The place is a hole-in-the-wall dump. The staff were the best thing about the place, friendly and helpful. There were four of...us so we ordered several dishes to share. Spring rolls had not seen Spring for quite a while. The ribs came with a sauce which was spilled over the rather small table. The items ordered with a chili marking their spiciness were not hot in either taste or temperature. Overall, an I won't be back experience.
