Thought we would give it a try too hot to cook today. Very nice and friendly Fries were really good. Fish was really good batter is thin to the point of almost pan fried. I like a little more batter, I would go back.
The food choices at this restaurant were not great, with all the appealing dishes being very pricey. The service was generally friendly, although a bit inconsistent.
My review is for the new restaurant that is located on hwy 104 just past antigonish. The meals that we have had on two occasions have been totally YUM.The menu is a little limited just now as they are only recently opened but this is a case of do a few things well rather than lots in a mediocre fashion. The fish is very fresh and if you want it sautéed instead of breaded, thank goodness it is an option. I have issues with wheat and this is a very big thing for me. And the fact the fish just melts in your mouth helps too. The chef knows seafood! The fries are REAL and not the usual frozen bag stuff. This visit I also tried the Portuguese fish cakes with salt cod. They were perfect. Just the right amount of salt and the crisp cooked outside was mouth watering to even write about later. All of the little things are done right . that includes the coleslaw that was the right side for seafood. This is a very casual place that is just doing it right and the prices are very fair. Yes, This is where you should stop ;^)
The restaurant is now called Ajio, but they have not taken down the old sign, so it is a bit confusing. The service was friendly, but they made mistakes with our order twice. The food was okay, but nothing remarkable. The ambiance was pleasant, but overall, I would not make a special trip to return here.
