Was marc amedeo at Edna a mag?
Wonderful dining experience in Halifax. A group of 4 went for dinner to Edna. The restaurant is cute, a bit loud and hot inside but still great. Cocktails excellent, appetizers were fantastic, the Burrata, the Oysters, the salad all flavourful and delicious. Mains scallops, fish and steak equally delicious. And the deserts, lovely. Great service, friendly staff, great price for the food quality so overall excellent e... View all feedback.
What Gerson Klocko dislikes about Edna:
vegan brunch had an option labeled with vegan, and one that could be made vegan had it. unfortunately it was the elimination of the two eggs, and not the substitution that with something or with a quantity of the rest. they have calculated the same price. was extremely hungry. View all feedback.

Incredible restaurant experience. Dynamic, professional, accommodating service and a focused perfectly prepared menu. One of the best meals you can get in Halifax. My partner and I were visiting Halifax from Montreal for the first time, and we made it a point to check out Edna Restaurant after hearing such wonderful things. And wow—what a truly great experience! From the moment we walked in, the warmth and charm of the staff set the tone for something special. Our server was absolutely fantastic: attentive, welcoming, and genuinely invested in making our evening memorable. That kind of hospitality is rare and so appreciated. The food? Absolutely delicious. Every bite was a celebration of flavor and craft, and it felt like each dish was made with care and a real love for good cooking. We couldn’t stop raving about it to each other between courses! Beyond the meal itself, Edna offered us a glimpse of Halifax’s vibrant culinary scene, and it’s safe to say they helped make our discovery of this city even more exciting. We felt cared for and celebrated—thank you to the entire team for a standout experience. If you’re in Halifax, Edna is a must. Trust us—this is one unforgettable stop. EDNA is a nice and busy little spot. I had a few oysters to start and a meal of steelhead trout all was prepared well and staff was knowledgeable.
Fantastic spot for brunch and dinner. Very knowledgeable staff. Menu items are not marked as GF, but my server was able to point out which items could be modified to be made GF (almost all of them). They were super accommodating. Several GF dessert options too!
Under new ownership they are amazing, gluten free on their dinner menu. they didn't even hunt an eye when I mentioned celiac disease. all dinner options except pasta (understood! could be adapted to my needs. in any case they go here for a nice dinner!

Had a fantastic dinner here. Excellent flavours all around. Started with the Beef Tataki and Brussels sprouts with peanut sauce as standout starters. Both had creative takes vs standard sauces. Very impressed by the balance of savoury sweet and tangy. The burrata toast though ok lost some of the wow of burrata with the pieces being a bit small and over powering the mild cheese. For mains had the Ribeye, Lamb Gnocchi, Scallops, and Halibut Cheek. All were excellent and great flavours. Cocktails were also stellar having tried the mezcal and tequila based ones. This place is definitely a bit of a hidden gem. Surprised that we were able to get last minute resos. Highly recommend.
We didn’t make reservations, but luckily walked in at 6pm on a Sunday evening and offered a table. We ordered marinated NS pea salad, seared scallops and rainbow trout. All of the dishes had amazing combinations of flavours and textures with decent portion sizes. They have daily specials as well.
We had the pleasure of having Cora as our server. She was awesome and adorable. The food and atmosphere was warm and lively. A bit on the loud and festive side but very lively in the best ways.
Amazing experience. Food is absolutely a must try we had the half charcuterie board, the trout, the gnocchi and the sticky toffee cake). The cocktails are amazing and so unique, I would really recommend for any kind of occasions !
Incredible experience! We had expected a lot from Edna as several of our friends had mentioned it for our trip to Halifax. Without a doubt, this place delivered. We were seated along the windows at the front of the restaurant, allowing us to watch the foot traffic on the lively street. The restaurant is long and has a wonderful wood and brass arch anchoring the room and housing the seated bar. We started with tuna poke and fried oysters. Both were fantastic. We shared the scallops and striped bass for mains. Both completely amazing dishes. The scallops had squash of all kinds, prepared in a several different ways. Bringing some savoury to the dish was cubed, fried ham bits. The bass was the special and came together nicely with bok choy, creamed kale, and baby red potatoes. It was mouth-watering. Just incredible. The portion size was sensible and we had little room for dessert. We managed to wrap our lips around a sticky toffee cake served with black sesame ice cream. Unreal. Our server was extremely mindful and friendly. With great suggestions from the menu (and things to do around town), our experience was made complete by the outstanding service. You must eat here if you are in Halifax.

Casual chic atmosphere with excellent food and beverage options. Everything was exceptional, with attention paid by the chef to taste, texture and presentation. The staff were attentive.
Good variety of oyster dishes for starters, as well as other items. Enough different entrees to suit any taste. Small but good wine and drink list. Service was attentive but not intrusive. Excellent value and fun!
I love this restaurant. The ambience, the staff and food are all exceptional. The food prep is spot on with elevated presentation and flavours which highlight the star of the plate.
Best meal I've ever had. The charcuterie board was great, especially the onion jam, and the steak and scallops were cooked perfectly. The baked oysters were also really good. Quick and friendly service too.

They will happily modify most items on their menu to accommodate vegan diners and their chef will be a vegan appetizer and cure on request. the daily “special” starter was slightly modified and delicious. I had the gnocchi (modified) next time I will try the cooking creation.
Vegan brunch had an option labeled with vegan, and one that could be made vegan had it. unfortunately it was the elimination of the two eggs, and not the substitution that with something or with a quantity of the rest. they have calculated the same price. was extremely hungry.
A few times there was only a vegan option for brunch and it was quite small for the cost. and really not so good. the coffee was also burned. I'll say I love the atmosphere. I will probably go back
My man, a friend, and I decided to come to the brunch today. the place was full and we were told that it was a 20-minute waiting period. the server were very friendly and friendly, asked if we wanted to drink and hand us menus while we waited. I admit, we began to get a little impatient, more so to customers they could clearly see were done and not abandoned than in the direction of the restaurant itself. I took the time to admire the charm of the place. simple, but cozy furnishings. once sitting, we were served immediately and all knew what we wanted, as the brunch menu does not offer too much vegan, but we were delighted and happy to order all the vegan French toast. the food arrived quickly and was pleasant to the eyes. the first bite I was in heaven. delicious homemade brot in a banana and coconut battery, laid on a bed Cashew cream, covered with cranberry and apfelcomonate. the aromen simply burst into the mouth. not sickly sweet for the tomorrow that was wonderful. the apple was delicious, the whole meal was. the best French toast I've ever eaten. all three of us loved it. it was worth waiting and the price was great too! I give it 4 stars just because it would be nice if there were more vegan options to both menus and because of the strong smell of animal products.
Our original plan was changed last minute and we pivoted to a walk-in early-bird dinner at Edna Restaurant. They were able to accommodate us at on a Sunday evening without reservation. We also had another appointment at and therefore had to rely on...a fast service. We went with two starters and two mains as well as a dessert to share. One of the starters had a piece of mussel shell in it, on which my girlfriend cut her lip. This was extremely unfortunate as the dish tasted great. The staff was very accommodating and offered us to replace it with another appetizer. But as we were short on time we did not avail of that option. They were nice enough to remove it from the bill. The other starter was a salad, which was also quite tasty. The highlights of the dinner were the mains, however. We had the Arctic Char and the Gnocchi. I would rate both of them out of The fish almost made a full score, which is something I rarely give out. The char itself was cooked to perfection with a crispy skin and soft middle. The snow peas and corn to go with it had a sour note which rounded up the flavor profile. It had a bit too much oil and salt, but otherwise it was a glorious dish indeed. For dessert, we had the pistachio cake. It was decent but pales in comparison to the main course. The service was swift yet unrushed. We were in and out in minutes as needed. I can highly recommend Edna to everyone despite the faux pas with the shell.
