Dhaba Express - Halifax

I ordered four vegetable samosas, which were first of all a great price. Secondly, the taste was amazing! The service was fast and friendly. I cannot say enough good things about it.

The restaurant clearly marks vegan options on their menu, but my top three favorites are the appetizer baskets, chana masala, and aloo gobi. It's important to note that rice must be ordered separately with a main dish. During their buffet, they offer a chickpea salad, basmati rice, naan, and 1-2 vegan main dishes. The staff is knowledgeable and can provide information if needed.

I have been to this restaurant a few times and they have many vegan options available. Everyone in my group enjoyed their meals as they were super delicious. However, they do not yet offer a buffet option.

My boyfriend and I just celebrated our 6th anniversary recently, so of course we reserved a table at our favourite Indian spot in Halifax. As usual, we had a lovely time. We mentioned to our server that it was our anniversary and she asked the kitchen to prepare a treat for us after our meal. So sweet of them. My boyfriend introduced me to Dhaba two years ago and ever since, we have been hooked. We live in Moncton but pick up or dine in about once a week as we both work in the city. We’ve ventured out to try a few other places, but we found ourselves comparing the other establishments to Dhaba in quality, cleanliness and atmosphere. If you can handle the heat, try the beef vindaloo. It is a hearty stew with deep flavors and a nice chili base. Their signature bread is the South Indian parratha bread and it is devine. Their chef makes it in house. Even better, order the South Indian bread with the beef vindaloo and you will have a burst of flavours dancing on your plate. Right now they make their naans on a tava, which tastes great - but I hear a tandoor is in the works. Yippee!Notes: Takeout can be a bit of a wait on the weekends, but if you plan ahead it’s not too bad. Make a reservation when you can, it is a small space and fills up quickly.

Highly rated place and so we ate here and we weren't disappointed. The butter chicken and the chicken tiika marsala were both wonderful. Also check out their dessert shop a few doors down with great choice . She even stayed open late for us when we said we would be back later but it might be after closing time.
