Was Robert Bennett at El Monte Mayor a mag?
Traditional Mexican. Family owned and it shows in the quality. Tacos are twice the normal size. I inhaled a tongue taco and a burrito and byob some honey wine. I have also gotten enchiladas on a past visit. So good with the Verde sauce. Mexican food is almost always good. But the places that make homemade shells are the best. The prices are reasonable n byob helps. This is one of those Mexican restaurants where Mexic... View all feedback.
What Meisha G dislikes about El Monte Mayor:
I came here for a late lunch with my student and we tried both the steak, lamb, and shrimp tacos, along with a side order of fries. I love tacos, but I found these to be a little disappointing. They were lacking in seasoning and had too much wrap in proportion to the filling. While they weren't bad, I expected more for $4 per taco. They only came with onion, cilantro, and store-bought tortillas, and the protein was s... View all feedback.
The whole experience from the moment I walked in was just bad. Upon entering the waitresses looked at me as if I had 3 heads, continuing in I goto order and so does my family. I asked for “lengua” tacos and the lady tells me that they don’t have that kind of meat for tacos but their menu says otherwise. My wife orders a shredded chicken quesadilla but the lady brought shrimp. Mind you she’s pregnant and she can’t have seafood. Luckily enough she inspected her food before going to take a bite. I got up to tell them but didn’t wanna be rude because they were also eating and I understand how restaurants can be. But I still let them know anyway. After a bit I needed to get my waitresses attention because she wasn’t very attentive. I walk up to their table and say excuse me and one of the other workers had the nerve to mock me for whatever reason. The food was mid at best and definitely not worth the money. Safe to say I wouldn’t be going back nor do I recommend anyone else do so as well. You want a great mexican restaurant with friendly people and amazing food, goto “Sabor Puebla Taqueria Café” you won’t be disappointed.

At first it was delicious, I don't know what happened to them, the food has no flavor anymore.
