A fantastic spot in the heart of East London. Offers excellent value for pints and drinks, with quick service and perfectly poured pints. The outdoor area is equipped with multiple screens both inside and outside for game viewing. Plus, the front features one of the largest outdoor tables, perfect for enjoying drinks in any season. While they don’t serve food, you can order delicious Yardsale pizza right at the pub.... View all feedback.
What Griffindale dislikes about The Perserverance:
I hate having to write bad reviews but feel like I need to be honest. Went in here to watch the Arsenal match on a dreary August Saturday, only to be told that all half pints soft drinks are £2.50 whilst sport is showing. Management staff were inhospitable, screens were inadequate for showing sport on. Unpleasant visit topped off by staff asking lad to leave when he didn't immediately buy a drink on entering the pub. Good pub, cheap compared to other local pubs, good choice of sport showing most nights. Darts is a bonus if you want to play. Lots of locals and usually quick service.
The heading says it all already. I really enjoyed my time there. Had the Free Ranger Pie and I loved it; especially the gravy ;

My friend and I were treated poorly by the rude owner of the restaurant after spending 1.5 hours there and purchasing 2 pints and 2 cokes right before the football match we came to watch started. Despite it being a quiet Sunday, we decided to take a break from ordering more drinks since we had already paid for drinks earlier. Once we sat down inside, the grumpy owner began to stare at us and make negative comments in a passive aggressive manner. We calmly explained that we had been drinking at the pub prior to his arrival, sitting outside. However, the owner did not believe us and had the kind female bartender inform us that only paying customers could watch the game. After recognizing us, she informed the owner. We attempted to show him our receipts, but he did not care and insisted that we continue to purchase drinks in order to watch the game (Euro qualifiers Denmark v Finland). Despite the pub not being busy, he claimed there was a rule stating that drinks had to be bought every 30 minutes to watch the game. Feeling shocked and uncomfortable, we were eventually asked to leave. The bartender, who was very kind, apologized for her boss's behavior as she escorted us out of the pub. Unfortunately, she mentioned that he was not pleasant to anyone, not just us. This was the worst treatment I have ever experienced in a pub. The staff was friendly, but the owner was extremely rude.
Nestled in the vibrant heart of East London, this local pub offers a cozy atmosphere perfect for sports enthusiasts and casual visitors alike. With a variety of drinks at reasonable prices and a welcoming staff, it’s an ideal spot to catch a game. The pub boasts ample outdoor seating, complemented by a charming beer garden. While it may lack a full food menu, patrons can order nearby pizza, adding to the casual dining experience. Despite some mixed reviews regarding service, particularly concerning the owner’s demeanor, the overall vibe remains inviting, making it a staple for locals and visitors.

It is a pub, what I call a real pub no eating games not only drinks but with a good atmosphere
This pub is fantastic, with a charming, traditional atmosphere. The prices are reasonable and they also offer a lovely beer garden with outdoor lighting and heaters to keep you warm during the winter months.
Cozy, laid-back, and inviting pub located in trendy Hackney. Perfect spot for enjoying a few Sunday pints with the added bonus of a free jukebox. Plenty of outdoor seating available for those looking to soak up the sun, though be prepared for some traffic noise.
Not much in the way of glitz or glamour here, but that makes it. Not pretentious or trying to be anything other than a pub. Shows sport. Has a large beer garden, where you can still see a tv, and super friendly staff. Love it!
A fun local pub! It’s a great spot to catch any game, even if sports aren't your thing! The atmosphere is lively and always buzzing with people! After the England vs. New Zealand rugby match on Saturday night, the place was a bit chaotic but a lot of fun! There were empty glasses everywhere, and the bar staff looked a little overwhelmed; it seems the pub might have seen better days. We decided to visit in the evening and tried to order a few pizzas advertised for £3.50 on the chalkboard, but the bartender wasn't pleased. We were told they weren't available and could only know if they were out by chance. When they finally arrived, we opted not to eat them since they were frozen and half-cooked, which wasn't quite what we had in mind for dinner. However, after some teasing from our friends to order food, we realized this place might not be the best for dining! The beer is definitely good, though, and it's still worth a visit!
