This restaurant provides the worst coffee, croissant, and service I have ever experienced. The croissant had a horrible taste, and when I brought this to the waitress's attention, she claimed it was from a different supplier and still charged me for it.
This restaurant has declined dramatically. The staff is extremely impolite and comes off as unfriendly, as if they despise their customers. The croissants are tough and lack the flakiness expected. I was very let down considering it used to be a good place.
Visit this place first thing in the morning for a coffee and a pain au chocolat. The pastry is lovely, very traditional. I also enjoy the fact that they open so early, as I only found them because they were the only cafe open on my way to work. I particularly like their oat milk latte, although depending on who's operating the coffee machine, the coffee ranges from poor tasting to exquisite! Luck of the draw on the day unfortunately. As I usually visit so early the staff are attentive and nice if not a little slow off the mark, but I cut them some slack as it is first thing in the morning. Would recommend.
Bought a falafel wrap for £5, got home (3 mins walk away) and it was clear that the falafels had been standing for hours as they were totally cold and chewy. Is it just me or should they be at least warm? This compounded misery I felt weeks before when buying 4 croissants and a couple of babychinos and being charged £15 for the pleasure. Had to actually return to check they'd charged me correctly as I was gobsmacked when I checked my change halfway down Chatsworth Road. This could be a great little cafe but with prices and quality of food like this it's only alienated me as a local resident.
Nestled on Chatsworth Road, this quaint café offers a mixed experience for visitors. While some patrons praise the delectable falafel and fresh pastries, others express disappointment in the service and food quality. Reports of rude waitstaff and poor coffee overshadow its once-popular reputation. The inviting atmosphere is marred by inconsistent service, with some enjoying early morning visits, while others cite unwelcoming staff. Despite the charming interior and diverse menu, potential diners might want to weigh their options before stopping in, as there are numerous alternatives in the area worth considering.
