Sara Sophia - Hackensack
Sara Sophia
Description
On Hackensack's Main Street, this Ecuadorian spot shines with bold seafood—ceviche and caldo/encebollado earn praise—and a warm, music-tinged ambiance ideal for families and BYOB nights. Attentive staff and generous portions bring repeat visits, though experiences vary: delivery can be slow, some dishes arrive unevenly seasoned or cold, and Groupon diners report smaller portions and service hiccups. Reservations are accepted but occasional unexpected closures and missed calls frustrate guests. Overall, a flavorful neighborhood choice best enjoyed dine-in or cautiously when using delivery or discount deals.

The staff at this restaurant are attentive and friendly. I've only had the chance to visit twice, but each time the food has been fresh, served quickly, and incredibly delicious! Keep up the great work—thank you!
The caldo encebollado (shrimp and fish soup) here is the best I've ever had in all of New Jersey. The service was friendly and inviting, and the music enhanced the pleasant atmosphere.
I recently dined at a fantastic Ecuadorian restaurant on the main street in Hackensack. I sampled the Ecuadorian-style ceviche, which differs slightly from the Peruvian version. This ceviche is partially cooked rather than served raw and comes in a tomato-based broth. Bohemia offers both types, and I have to say, they are both delicious. My wife opted for the encebollado, a savory soup made with tuna and onions, and it was equally delightful.
This restaurant is an amazing place to go to eat. The food is so good, the service is excellent and is one of the top noch places to go to eat with family and friends. The another reason what I like this place is because I can BRING MY OWN BOTTLE.
