Description

Nestled in the scenic town of Barmouth, the local café, Bath House, offers a mixed dining experience. While the stunning views and historic charm of the former Victorian seaweed bath venue attract visitors, service can be inconsistent, with some patrons reporting rude interactions during busy times. The food has garnered mixed reviews, particularly concerning undercooked sausages and greasy bacon, though many praise the delicious milkshakes and ice creams, especially the coconut lime thick shake. Overall, this café provides a pleasant spot for a quick drink or dessert, but diners may wish to explore alternative options in the vibrant culinary landscape of Barmouth.

Friendly Business Audit Occupying an enviable position with history as a 19th century bath house it’s a shame that you have not made this building more striking. The latest renovation is very plain and lacks character. Consider a bright period seaside colour which will bring life into the area and attract more business. Vintage hand painted signage would set the building off well. Barmouth needs to be made more colourful and refined with a nod to its history. It seems to be a listed building yet they have allowed the UPVC windows and drab exterior combined with the conservatory front so I’m sure things can be achieved. I know times are hard but if you made this stand out as a genuinely striking Victorian building it’s only going to attract more customers in the long run. Looking forward to the changes and wishing you the best. Warm regards, Business Domesticus

We always visit the bath house cafe when in Barmouth. It's only one of a few cafes that serves food and drinks all day. The menu has lots of choices and the food and drinks have been lovely on each visit. You can sit outside on the balcony which leads directly down to the beach so the kids can play in the sand while you enjoy a coffee... Staff are friendly and service always good. Reasonably priced too.

I went to this restaurant for a milkshake and it was the best one I've ever had! I can't wait to go back for another. I would definitely visit this place again just for their milkshakes. I highly recommend it.

It is a pleasure to visit the Bath House Cafe. With it being very dog friendly, lovely food and drink we always isit when in Barmouth. The staff are lovely especially the owners who always give us a warm welcome. On hot days it is nice to sit outside and there is plenty of room. The best view in Barmouth when having a latte.
