The Purple Moose brewery brewery some pretty decent cask ales. So that is already a 5 star for me. But I know some people want a pub to serve decent food as well. So you're in luck, The Australia does. So excellent beer and food...
We stopped here after reading about the gluten free options on offer however were disturbed to find that these options are not gluten free at all. They're suitable for those avoiding gluten but NOT for coeliacs as the kitchen uses the same frier for all...
The restaurant had a strange vibe. The beer was tasty and the staff were mostly friendly, but there was one man with facial tattoos who seemed unfriendly. He made offensive remarks and got into a heated argument with a customer, who accused him of engaging in inappropriate behavior with minors.
There seems to be limited options for dining in town. We decided to try Australia and were extremely pleased with our experience. The restaurant was clean and cozy. The food, including lasagna, curry, and steak and ale pie, was delicious and the portions were generous. The staff was very friendly, helpful, and accommodating. Overall, it was a wonderful experience that we look forward to repeating.
This restaurant is a fantastic spot for drinks. I didn't get a chance to try the food, but I was pleasantly surprised by the Moose brewery. It's becoming increasingly rare to find a good bitter, but the Moose dark bitter was just right - smooth and delicious. The staff were very friendly and made us feel at home. I loved the decor and the bathrooms are worth a visit for their unique plumbing design. I would have given this place five stars if it weren't for their dog-friendly policy. I now consider the presence of dogs when choosing where to eat and drink.
