Wintzell's Oyster House - Guntersville

I visited wentzell’s on Tuesday night for dinner and chance waited on my table. He definitely has a good knowledge of the menu offerings and suggestions for dinner. I got the crab cakes with Cajun sauce and it was very tasty, not frozen but freshly made with real crab meat. Chance always was courteous to see if I needed a beverage refill or if the food was good. We sure could use more people like him. I will definitely return to wentzell’s for lunch or dinner and refer friends/family to them for business. John Prince

I'm a bit hesitant to write this review because I truly enjoy this place. The waterfront setting and relaxed atmosphere are wonderful, even though it's a chain restaurant. However, my wife and I visited over the weekend, and unfortunately, the food was disappointing. We ordered an appetizer and two entrees, and nearly everything was inedible—overly salty and lacking freshness. At $40 per person, there are definitely better choices in Guntersville. On a brighter note, the service we received was excellent!

When I finally got to enjoy the food, it was quite good! The waitress was decent, but I found it inappropriate when she kissed my husband and our 8-month-old son on the forehead.

The food was amazing, and I only wish I could have finished it. Our waiter noticed we had left a cell phone on the table and returned it to us before we even got to our car. Excellent service!

Amazing as always! Oysters are the best around! Friendly and very helpful staff!
