Stopped off at the Gunbower Hotel for one of their famous steaks - I was not let down - the locally sourced beef was cooked to perfection. A great pub with very friendly staff. View all feedback.
What User doesn't like about Gunbower Hotel Restaurant:
Very dissappointed! I rang to book a table and the person who I spoke with said no worries no need to book. So we drove the half hour out to gunbower. When we arrived we were told that we needed to order straight away as there were 80 people about to arrive. So my wife and her elderly mother waited in line for 10 minutes only to be told when it was there turn that because they weren't with the group they would have t... View all feedback.
The lunch at this restaurant was excellent and thoroughly enjoyed.
The food at this restaurant is amazing! I had the grilled barramundi with vegetables, served with a baked potato and sour cream, seasoned string beans, cabbage salad, and a delicious zucchini and capsicum ragout. The portions were very generous. My partner had the Scotch fillet with chips and salad, which was also delicious. And the duck spring rolls are a must-try! I want to compliment the chef and the friendly staff. We will definitely be back again!
During a business trip, my colleague and I dined at the Gunbower Hotel. I opted for the steak, which was incredibly tender and flavorful. My colleague ordered the lamb cutlets and I couldn't help but envy how they simply melted in your mouth. The service was excellent, with friendly staff attending to our needs.
They boasted to have the best steak, and indeed they live up to the claim! Not the cheapest, not the most hospitable bar tender/owner, but all made up by friendly patrons; typical small town hotel and drinking hole. Will come back for the steak if passing through again! Not tried, but heard that they serve good duck cuisine as well.
Terrible service. Award for worst service goes to Gunbower Hotel. Ask if I could change mash to chips, No you 're not allowed to change orders on Saturday night, it 's too busy a minute later someone else changes their order and I ask why I can 't: Oh because they 're regulars! So unless you 're a regular expect to be treated like a lepper! The plastic trestle tables add a real Sunday market feel too
