The atmosphere was relaxed and inviting, and the menu was excellent. The staff were very attentive, and my mom had a wonderful birthday celebration. We will definitely be coming back!

Other n... read more An absolute gem of a country pub. Welcoming staff, very busy on a Sunday afternoon, so you must book! The roasts were a hit with all of us in the group. Other non roasts were the burger and the sea bream, and again, both were excellent. Desserts also were a smash, the sticky toffee pudding should be given protected status. Soft sponge, beautiful toffee sauce and a classic vanilla ice cream. Pure joy. The very unusual apple fig and chestnut crumble with lemon thyme custard was also a piping hot delight of flavours and textures. Cherry sundae and lemon posset disappeared without a fight! My only regret is that I did not get a chance to have the devilled kidneys starter but that means I will be going back. There is also a huge outdoor area, and a fair bit of is covered and has heating, so even on a cold rainy Sunday afternoon, there were plenty of punters outside. The gift that keeps on giving.
