We stopped by on a busy Saturday afternoon to grab a snack at this restaurant. The place was packed with locals picking up fresh sandwiches and pies for lunch, but we were drawn to the delicious looking slices and cakes on display. We decided to try the bee-sting (voted best ever) bread-and-butter pudding cake, and it did not disappoint. The staff was busy but still friendly and helpful, ensuring COVID safety protocols were followed inside the store. There are also outdoor dining areas available.
The restaurant offers the best and friendly service, with delicious homemade food. You can also find household and kitchen supplies available for pick up. Additionally, they have implemented safety measures to provide a safe environment during the COVID-19 pandemic.
Came today for lunch. Had a a curry chicken pie with home made sauce which was **** beautiful. Stuff are really nice and friendly Have indoor and out door sitting Looking forward to coming.
The weather was perfect, but I was disappointed to discover that the restaurant closed early for the Melbourne Cup. Despite not having a bad experience, I now know to arrive before 12pm next year. I hope the new owners maintain the ambiance that the restaurant already has, assuming it is sold by then.
I love country towns and their quirky shops, but this one has missed the mark for me. I wouldn't say it's not worth stopping, maybe it is... it's certainly got potential. It looks neglected to me. It's dark inside and while it clearly had old world charm once... I would hazard a guess and say it's changed owners since then. I stopped to get a drink... initially wanted coffee but they don't do lactose free milk, so that was put behind me. So the town is quaint, there are a few things to look at in town... this store has potential to be something special...but it's not there yet. And then there's the question... who is Fergus?
