Was Maria Dimichele at Bin23 a mag?
My gourmet group of seven (from KW) was there for lunch today. We were delighted with the excellent menu. The choices we picked were grilled salmon with dill frites, smoked tempeh, buttermilk fried chicken, steak/frites, and Caesar salad. I was lucky to share the delicious house pâté with balsamic fig compote. My dessert was an awesome shared vanilla crème brûlée. Of course wine was on the table too. Thank you to “Ji... So my American friend and I decided to come here. I've never been here, even though I live here in Guelph. The interior and outdoor patio are quite well decorated. It's a tad on the small side, but it's cozy. Don't come here unless your willing to spend at least 100$. We both got the beef tips with tempura battered onion rings, with cooked veggies in some sort of red wine reduction. It was.. the best f meal I've ever had. There taste was seblime, and the sparkling water cleansed the palate. The grilled calamari was pretty good too. Not overcooked, but just perfectly grilled and seasoned. They had a blueberry palate cleanser in between both dishes too. Which I thought was an amazing touch. The experience is well worth it's price. I'll be back here for sure!
My wife and I chose this restaurant to celebrate our first anniversary, and we're glad we did. The environment was great, the food was delicious, and the service was top notch. Food: My wife and I got the calamari on recommendation, and it was literally the best we've ever had. We grew accustomed to the bar food version of calamari and were blown away by how good it was. It comes non-breaded with a spicy rouille sauce, a small serving of garden salad and balsamic vinegar, and some bread. The calamari and melted in our mouths. Not even the least bit chewy My wife ordered the chicken and thought it was prettty good but didn't blow her mind. It came with homemade ravioli that was quite delicious. We both agreed that the duck I ordered was better. Cooked perfectly and with a sweet potato hash that really elevated the dish. We finished with the creme brulee that was over the top delicous. The fruit tart was a refreshing choice to pair with the sweetness of the brulee. The pasty for the tart was light, flaky, not too sweet. Overall 4 stars for the food, with only the chicken not being outstanding. Atmosphere: Cozy, intimate, and comfortable. It did feel a little tight, as we had a large group of 8 come in and sit next to us mid-way through our dinner. This wouldn't have been a problem, but our table felt a little crowded as they took their time settling in. Despite this, we were able to enjoy our meal in a fairly romantic setting. There was also a cute little nook near the back that seated 6 that looked really cozy. I love my nooks, so this was definitely a positive thing to notice. Service: The wait staff were super friendly and informative. They were attentive enough that we never felt forgotten, and our wine was consistently topped up. We ordered a bottle for the first time ever, as we can't normally afford it but this was a special occasion. They opened the bottle and poured me a little bit to taste? smell? swirl? I don't know, I've never done this before. I awkwardly tasted it, gave the thumbs up (is there an alternative) and enjoyed the rest of our meal while trying to forget it. This isn't the wait staff's fault, but we thought it was funny. All in all, great choice for a date night or an intimate dinner of any kind! Just make sure you know what you're doing when you order a nottle of wine.
Soooo delicious!!! I really like the fries, it was so tasty!! We got the crab cake for the appetizer and me and my friend both got the tenderloin for the entree. The food and service was amazing.
Incredible, incredible, incredible. The calamari was outstanding, the scallops were delicious and the staff were accommodating. The scallops were a bit too salty for my liking, but overall still tasty. The manager took the time to address our questions about the food, and was very knowledgeable and friendly. The restaurant was quite noisy during dinner, and the seating was cozy to say the least. Unfortunately, the loud tables nearby made it difficult for my date and I to have a conversation. This was definitely a drawback.
My wife and I had a fantastic evening at this charming restaurant in Guelph. The dinner was delicious and the dessert was amazing. I highly recommend this place.
