A well appointed restaurant, beautiful food and ideal for a celebratory meal. A bit pricy though in comparison to the restaurant in Castle Franco which one would have passed on the way. Surrounded by nature, located quite high up, just a short walk from Gubbio, it's the perfect place to stay and explore! The castle is easy to reach, truly large... read more Surrounded by nature, located quite high up, just a short walk from Gubbio, it's the perfect place to stay and explore! The castle is easy to reach, truly large and well-maintained! The rooms are large and spacious! You can book a kitchen if you want to be independent! The breakfast was rich and tasty, with every choice from sweet to savory, even for those with food intolerances! The only downsides were the practically non-existent hot water in the bathroom; there was no pressure, so it came out in a trickle. Showering was almost impossible. Furthermore, there was a large door inside the room in addition to the main entrance, which was impossible to lock from the inside without a padlock. At least, I couldn't lock it at all. Finally, I recommend (and I give this advice everywhere you go, even if you rent a kitchen) checking the pans before using them, as those who stay overnight first either rinse them without soap or aren't experienced enough to clean them, which can be quite a hassle! Everything else was great! I'll be back in the summer to relax in the cool air!
