The restaurant i... read more I visited La Cia restaurant in Gubbio and had a very positive experience overall, albeit with a few minor oversights that didn't ruin the meal. The restaurant is in a truly picturesque location, atop Mount Ingino, with a spectacular view of all of Gubbio. You can reach it either by car, via a convenient road and parking, or by cable car, which adds a scenic and distinctive touch to the experience. The atmosphere is refined, elegant but not stuffy, and the staff was friendly and helpful, although I would say that the wine was poured without us tasting it first, and the bread arrived only after the appetizers, rather than right at the beginning when we were seated. These are easily remedied oversights, but they didn't ruin the meal. The food, in fact, was excellent: dishes prepared with quality ingredients and beautifully presented. The appetizers were excellent, and the first courses were truly delicious, especially the truffle ones, flavorful yet balanced. The prices are in line with the restaurant's caliber and panoramic location, so they're reasonable. In conclusion, La Cia is a restaurant I recommend: the food is excellent, the view is wonderful, and in my humble opinion, with a little more attention to service, it could become truly perfect.

If you'd like a break after visiting the Basilica of Sant'Ubaldo, stop at the Bar LA CIA, located beneath the Basilica, where you can enjoy some excellent cresc... read more If you'd like a break after visiting the Basilica of Sant'Ubaldo, stop at the Bar LA CIA, located beneath the Basilica, where you can enjoy some excellent crescia (we recommend the ones with guanciale and pecorino/Norcina and spinach), accompanied by a nice glass of Grechetto. The view will be a splendid accompaniment.
