Saw this place mentioned on TripAdvisor liked the sound of the E7.50 meal of the day. Hunted the restaurant down asked for menu. Then asked for the 3 course meal of the day menu. Told they didn't do 1!!!!! So ordered our drinks. No orange juice for my wife, only Fanta. Nice cold beer, but almost flat but still went bown well. Menu was translated into English, but so many mistakes!! 2 Soups ordered. Now when bread is mention in the soup description, you may think that it comes with it. Wrong, it is in the soup. My Chicken soup was tasty, but only 1 tink bit of Chicken, 3 pieces of bone loads of bread Chickpeas. My wifes soup was Ham Egg. Packet Ham chopped boiled egg plus loads of bread. Ham Egg ok, but rest Yuk. Then Main course. I ordered Ribs. Sorry no Ribs! So i ordered Pork stew with sausage chips, surprisingly tasty. My wife ordered Hawaiian Salad. Didn't expect canned Fruit Salad with lettuce. So overall 2 Soups, 2 Mains 2 pints a Fanta E27.20. Never Again!!
Our friends brought my wife and I to this restaurant, which was their favorite. The menu of the day cost only 7.50 euros each and had a very good variety of the two plates. I chose a mixed salad as my first plate and the roast pork as my second plate. For dessert I had the fresh strawberries. We all enjoyed our lunch.
There was a lot of noise and bonhomie going on at the bar side of this restaurant though no one eating as far as we could see. A young waitress brought us a most impressive menu where we couldn't believe we could order prawns followed by rabbit. She went to presumably place order when a lesser optimistic server appeared in no mood for lousy Spanish speaking tourists! No Hay! This was said to at least half the menu items. Despite crates and crates of empty cruz campo, it too was No Hay. Though the Alhambra was refreshingly cold in 30C heat. We settled for iberico pork and lagrimitas which I'd not tried up till now actually very good and sizeable portions. Great value too. Just be warned that with so few people actually eating here, they won't stock everything they have on their menu, so don't salivate before you check what's on hoy
Highly recommended for classic Spanish food, and good value drinks. Lots of parking, good service and easy to find!
Any roadside restaurant with this much local traffic must be good-and it was! Generous portions of quality food, prepared simply and well. Huge quantities. The Secreto Iberico was generous portions of Iberian pork steak (like flank steak but much more tender and flavorful). Outstanding!
