I had never been here before and just noticed it the other day. I went to this place because all of the prices at the other local Thai places that I frequent have skyrocketed. I don't want to pay $20 for a single lunch dish if I can help it. I was picking up lunch for my husband and I and was hoping to get out under $25 but it was I settled for $26 because I was really craving some yellow curry. We tried the yellow c... What Emory Yost doesn't like about Bunn Thai Bistro:
I will never come here again sadly. I had high hopes honestly considering they had 4 and a half stars. I ordered pineapple chicken curry with a side of rice. The curry was like soup really watery good flavor but I opened the container and it was just liquid with huge chunks of pineapple there was probably 3 small pieces of chicken. The rice container was filled half way it felt light when I pulled it out usually they... View all feedback.
This restaurant is a hidden gem. I enjoy stopping in for a Tiger beer while I wait for my takeout order. I highly recommend trying the Curry Pineapple and duck over noodles!
We went for dinner on Sunday. The restaurant was not crowded and the waitress was friendly. The chicken satays were tasty. However, the Tom kha soup was disappointing as it lacked chicken and was filled with carrots and broccoli. The Thai fried rice was delicious, but the Kungpao chicken had too many onions and lacked chicken and nuts.
The service at this restaurant was friendly and attentive. The interior was clean and tidy. We also tried some appetizers, but they were so delicious that we finished them before I could snap a photo. This should give you an idea of how tasty the food is here! The pineapple fried rice had great flavor and was not too heavy. The curry was perfectly spiced. This is now my boyfriend and my favorite Thai restaurant.
Ate here today and ordered off the lunch menu. I ordered red curry with chicken (L9 on the menu). I received yellow curry instead. First the soup: visually it looked oily. However, that was an illusion. The soup was on the sweet side and it had a flavor I liked. The curry with chicken: perfectly cooked. Chicken was not dry and the veggies were not overcooked. It was a tad spicy for my taste. Ambiance was lacking. My table was next to an outdoor space heater with a Santa sign on it. We were the only people in the restaurant and the waitress guided us to the table. The service was good.
Good Thai. Seems family run but I didn't get to interact with anyone other than the waitress. She was nice but not overly attentive. This is a small place so probably not good for groups but for the price it's good. It's comparable in quality and portion with other Thai in five cities. For a lowkey night out with my wife and another couple it's a great spot that even many locals haven't tried. Today I had drunken noodles and a side of white rice for 18.49. After tax.
