Very good, particularly recommend the älpler magerone and the coffee. I suggest you sit outside as the view is really good?
Absolutely terrible!!! An old Swiss woman with glasses and short hair switched the light off while I was getting ready in the toilet at the end of the day, and moaned at me with an angry voice, that they are closing. I replied that she was supposed to wait until the customers are gone, but I didn't really feel like arguing with her at the moment. Such a behaviour would have been accepted somewhere in post-communist Europe, but it does definitely NOT meet Swiss standards. Actually this was not for the first time I was treated in this way at this place, and it might have been the same person who misunderstood the principles of customer service. Hopefully this troublesome woman will be sorted out soon so that the customers' satisfaction can be achieved. The view is obviously stunning, but it becomes outweighed with the issues listed above...
We chose this mountain restaurant as it can be accessed by people who are walking as well as skiers, we were a mixed group. The views are wonderful but the food is poor and overpriced. Roesti was the worst we have had anywhere, greasy and over cooked. Service was surly and we were given the wrong order at first. It was not overly busy so the staff ought to have been able to cope much better.
So one of our group wanted a break from skiing and we landed here. What a view of the Eiger and co. Sunshine helped but I'm sure it's just as cosy inside in poor weather. Well worth it on a clear day. Couldn't take enough photos.

Gutes Restaurant während dem Skifahren. Tolle Aussicht. Preise aber eher hoch. Für Apres Ski natürlich auch geeignet ;-)
We walked from Grosse Scheidegg to the Firstbahn but elected to end up at Shreckfeld instead of hiking all the way up to First. The restaurant is a lot less crowded than the one at the top and my friend said the food is better. We both had a Fitness Teller (plate) with so much salad along with the meat that I couldn't finish it all. Our table on the terrace overlooked the valley but there were huge windows so we weren't at the mercy of the elements. Service was friendly. We enjoyed our meal immensely.
Nous étions cette semaine dans ce restaurant. Personnel peu aimable contrairement aux habitudes suisses. On nous a en plus réclamé un pourboire ensuite ! Cuisine et cadre très bien, c'est dommage !
Often stop here for coffee or lunch when skiing in the area.Last week we could easily get a table for 5 of us at lunchtime and ate upstairs. Saturday 21st was a busy day as it was the first decent skiing weekend. We hadn't booked a table and they wouldn't open upstairs so we had to lunch outside. It was a beautiful sunny day but knees can soon get cold which isn't good when hitting the slopes. The restaurant was busy and 2 ordered items never turned up. The waitress was apologetic and went through the electronic bill to make sure we were not being charged for the 2 items that never arrived.If slopes are busy, you need to book a table for lunch.The food is excellent and there is a varied menu.Outside are picnic tables and a small bar selling drinks and snacks.Try the local cheese on bread. Blij om de benen onder tafel te kunnen strekken en wat ruimte te hebben - correcte dagschotel (stoofvlees met tagliatelle, vergezeld van een halve perzik met room (bizar) : zie foto) maar als we terug zouden gaan dan zou ik de spaghetti bolognaise nemen. Bediening heel kortaf. Geen aanrader
