It is situated in a clearing just a few minutes drive from the village of Grindelwald, with won... read more Restaurant Marmorbruch is a very special place for many reasons. It is situated in a clearing just a few minutes drive from the village of Grindelwald, with wonderful views of the valley below. We have been there many times and have always been greeted warmly by the owners, Anita and Wali (she provides service and he cooks). There is always a lively conversation and the food is delicious. Our favorites are cheese fondue and pork schnitzel with fries. The salads are generous and fresh. We try to save space for dessert, and when we are not too full we share a large slice of heavenly Linzertorte, prepared by Anita’s mother.

We actually stopped here because we need a bathroom. it was about 11 o'clock, and we ordered a cappuccino and a piece of cake, so they won't get worse with us.... read more We actually stopped here because we need a bathroom. it was about 11 o'clock, and we ordered a cappuccino and a piece of cake, so they won't get worse with us. the place was empty (off season and not yet midday and appeared. to run from a few in their sixties that made some paperwork when we entered. the lady waited for us immediately while the man went up and we did not see him again. I saw the dame make the cappuccino (it was at least 6-8 oz and then served me a piece of what turned out to be a heavenly jam with a thick crust. (lincertort) both the cappuccino and the cake came to 13 Swiss francs (not bad for a resort area in Switzerland and were quite good. the restaurant is cozy, dressed in bright wood, has exposed beams over the deck and has various folk art articles in it. it could have had about 20 customers if the German word, is full. (the one that was encircled by the lady spoke at least enough English to thank us very much.
