First visit and will be back! We had the steak that just melted in the mouth! The pappardelle was also delicious. And the wine is perfectly assembled. One of our groups has mobility problems, but the restaurant design and service meant a good time... from all. We will definitely come back. View all feedback.
What Velda Hickle doesn't like about Antico Ricetta:
My Wife and I attended this restaurant in the hope of a lovely evening but were let down and disappointed by the lack of service. It took us 40 mins to get served and another 40 mins to receive the meal. The meal was OK...but not worth the extremely poor service and wait. Don't go!!! Go somewhere else. View all feedback.
Ricetta started off slowly as there were grumpy and incompetent waiters working there to start but since the new batch of younger guys came in there's been a face lift and pictures and music a totally different vibe and a lot more friendlier as well must have to do with new management /owner!?! Their Pizzas are the best in Manuka!!...if not Canberra.
Everyone enjoyed the great Italian food at this restaurant. The pasta tasted like fresh pasta, the salad was also fresh and tasty. We all ordered something different and all were very happy. The place was packed when we arrived at 7pm but had filtered down by 8.30 with seating inside and out. We were a group of 8 and the staff were friendly and relaxed ( but could have been a little faster with initial services). A great informal place.
We dined with a group of 20 and the service was excellent, great atmosphere and food was tasty with lots of homemade pasta dishes to choose. One highlight was the ice cream with lemoncello liquor dessert served in a champagne flute.
This restaurant is well situated in busy foodie Manuka and appears to be popular, partly because of a recent venue upgrade. The service is pleasant, but what happened to the food standards? The quality of the pasta and sauces has slipped, leaving me feeling unsatisfied at the finish of a dish that had always pleased in the past. And the coffee was less flavoursome.
As locals, we had been wanting to try out this restaurant for some time. The service was good and the wine prices were typical for most places these days. The calamari entree was decent, with a reasonable portion that we split between the two of us. However, the Cannelloni was disappointing - a small tube filled with ricotta and spinach, topped with a dry tomato sauce and served with only a small portion of salad leaves. The serving size was a letdown even for someone like me who doesn't eat much. My partner's pasta was just average. Overall, for the price, everything was underwhelming. Adding a second cannelloni and a bit more sauce wouldn't have cost much but it would have made a big difference in our experience and potentially retained us as future customers.
