Abbey Rose
Description
Set in a charming village main-road spot, this cozy restaurant dazzles at times with standout dishes—prawns, pork belly, ribs and desserts—plus a warm gardened dining room and fireplaces. Service and consistency vary: friendly, engaged owners and attentive staff contrast with menu inaccuracies, missing ingredients, slow or incorrect billing and occasional supply problems. Prices sit mid–high; reservations and a quick call to confirm dishes are advised for groups, occasions or first-time visitors seeking the best experience.

We just had lunch at Abby Rose to support the new owners. Food was excellent for all 4 of us. we asked for the bill and added a 10% tip even though service was poor . Simple things like chips arriving 10 min after rest of food and empty dishes being left on the table. However the waitress took it on herself to add an extra tip on. When I said to her we won't be back and this was wrong she pretended she didn't know what I was talking about. It was clearly written on the bill and she made up her own amount. This is unacceptable. There are many other excellent, honest restaurants in the village. I am very disappointed by this experience.
