Sevenpenny - Greymouth

The restaurant was cozy and provided a much-needed escape from an unexpectedly heavy downpour in Greymouth (the rain felt like the end of the world). We ordered hot chocolate, which arrived with two delightful marshmallows that enhanced the flavor beautifully.

Sevenpenny is an excellent choice for breakfast, offering a diverse menu that includes both hot and cold dishes, as well as enticing options from their cabinet. We particularly enjoyed the smashed avocado with feta and the corn fritters, both of which were delicious. I highly recommend it as a prime breakfast destination. The coffee was fantastic, and the place wasn't overly crowded, creating a nice, quiet atmosphere that was perfect for relaxation.

This is hands down the best spot we discovered in Greymouth! The breakfast was amazing, and even though they've been operating the café/restaurant for four years, it feels like it has just been renovated. It’s truly a delightful place to relax and enjoy.

Walking distance to the train station and a few hotels/hostels nearby. Really convenient and lovely vibe with indoor and outdoor seating, both kitchen and cabinet offerings. I had the chocolate frappe on an unusually hot afternoon and it really hit the spot! Came back for the veg frittata/quiche the next morning and just had a lovely time chilling in the cafe for a few hours. The staff are quick to serve and polite too :
