Nestled in the heart of the city, this restaurant boasts a nostalgic charm reminiscent of beloved diners of yesteryear. While many patrons recall fond memories of hearty breakfasts and comforting homemade flavors, recent visits highlight a decline in service quality, with long waits and order mix-ups becoming all too common. However, dishes like the Reuben sandwich and classic French toast still receive high praise for their taste and portions. Despite inconsistencies, the dedication of some staff remains apparent, leaving diners with a bittersweet experience that urges them to revisit for a taste of the past.

Was Drea Jo at Elmer's a mag?
I experienced the same consistent quality that I'm accustomed to at Elmers. I ordered the veggie omelette with blueberry pancakes, but was disappointed that the pancakes had very few blueberries - maybe about 6 in total across 3 pancakes. When I called to express my concerns, the person who answered said that the manager was not available for the day. I'll try reaching out via email instead. Additionally, I noticed t... What Tiffany Bednar dislikes about Elmer's:
I worked as a line cook at this restaurant in the 80s. We served many satisfied customers who would travel up to 3 to 5 blocks just for our Sunday brunch. I was in charge of making eggs and worked alongside Mr. Bob Elmer. Everything was going well until one night, the dishwashers started a water fight and I ended up getting splashed with hot oil while emptying and cleaning the deep fryer. I was a Line Cook at this restaurant in the 80's We had good folks lined up 3 to 5 blocks coming to have Sunday Brunch I was the Egg cook and I worked with Mr Bob Elmer Great Job until the dishwashers had a water fight late one night and I had the big pan of hot cracklins and grease to empty out back and clean the deep fat fryer as we did every night I had some blisters on my face from the little bit of oil that splattered on me. I threw the pan as far as I could before I landed on my tailbone It's all good though It ended my cooking career Bonnie Lee Parker Loved my job Loved the people I worked with

I ordered the half ranch breakfast with one egg, extra crispy hash browns, crispy bacon, and a biscuit. Everything was prepared exactly as I requested. The biscuit was okay, but a bit on the dry side. My dining companion ordered the avocado egg Benedict with a side of pancakes and she really enjoyed her meal. The service was good as well.

I tried this German pancake with Lingonberry butter for the first time. It's so good.

The customer service at this restaurant is exceptional and the food is absolutely amazing. The bacon is delicious and possibly the best I've ever had. The French toast tastes homemade and reminds me of my Mom or Grandma's cooking. This place is top-notch and I highly recommend it. The breakfast here is like old-school cooking and tastes homemade. The prices are reasonable, especially compared to other restaurants that are increasing their prices. I can't wait to visit this place again when I am in town. I would give it a 10/10 rating.
