It was perfectly good, a very reasonable dinner from a small but varied menu at a price that puts it in the mid range. (I initially rated it average but it is better than that Trip Adviser really needs another option between average and very good without really being VERY good). Decent starters were offered (though I think the deep fried camembert could have done with a little longer in the fryer) but the mains were somewhat limited (partly due to personal taste) leading me to choose the bavette on both visits. Pleased to see Café Gourmand offered as this is one of the best developments in French cuisine I have seen. Wine available by the glass, 25cl or 50cl pitcher or bottle (ideal range of options for the sole diner for whom a glass is not enough and a bottle too much). Terrasse is available but on a busy square opposite the rail station too hot in the direct sun, too risky amid frequent thunderstorms. Interior was comfortable and on both my visits preferable.

Friendly and smiling service: probably one of the highlights!
