I often go on Tuesdays and Samuel and Pierre's service is excellent, always smiling and welcoming. I recommend the bar.

The location is nice and there are many tables outside to enjoy the view of the Halles right opposite the bar. Service is nice and friendly and it is a pretty good place to spend a night in town. Unfortunately, in an area with loads of great options for bars, this one is a little pricey with their average IPA beer being a little over €8 a pint. They have a decent wine selection which could potentially be a better value option. Food platters are OK but not exceptional either. On the plus side, they do host regular English speaking social events which are a fun time most of the time and service is always nice and pleasant.

If you don't know where to go for an aperitif with friends or eat a good charcuterie board, Au Rencard is the place to go. Top location and top level staff!!!

Sadly, in spite of the prices not being cheap, they don't accept card payments under €10 which is certainly inconvenient.
