Nestled in Greer, SC, this restaurant promises a tantalizing dining experience, but challenges in service have dampened visits. Diners rave about the exquisite food, from lobster mac and cheese to Cajun seafood pasta, often describing meals as heavenly. However, frequent reports of slow service and understaffing detract from the overall experience, with some guests leaving before ordering. While certain items like lobster rolls and cheese boards received criticism for quality, happy hour offers a fantastic deal on drinks, and attentive servers can turn a slow night around. Overall, the culinary delights shine through, making it worth a visit despite hiccups in service.

What Holly Hatch dislikes about Crate:
The woman then walked over to the bar, just a few feet away, and I could hear her chatting with another employee (or possibly the owner), completely ignoring us. Our waitress finally came by and apologized multiple times while the two women at the bar watched her struggle. Eventually, we decided to leave the restaurant right in front of them, and they didn’t seem to care at all. As we were leaving, our waitress actua... View all feedback.

Air fresheners are great in a bathroom but it ruins the wine tasting experience when you smell it rather than what's in your glass. They were not busy but only 1 person working in front and she was telling us her frustrations- and the cheese board was just all piled on top of each ingredient.
AMAZING food. Unfortunately they were very short staffed the night we went but the food was so good and made with love. Will definitely return!
The food was excellent. It seemed like they were quite short-staffed, and I don't know if that was a one-time thing or something that is frequent. We were in no hurry so it was fine for us, but I saw at least 2 tables of people leave before ordering or receiving their food due to how slow it was. They did their best with what they had.
Stopped in to give happy hour a try and WOW! Half off All drinks in the entire bar, FANTASTIC. I also tried the new dessert special they had which was white chocolate bread pudding, all i can say about that is delicious. Our servers name was Aspen, she was super fast and attentive to our needs, kept our glasses full and made us feel like we were friends forever. UNTIL NEXT TIME

Fabulous evening with friends. The staff was awesome and the collards are the best ever.
The food was delicious. Really enjoyed it. Would recommend and will be going back again soon
The food was outstanding. It appeared they were understaffed, though I'm not sure if that’s a frequent occurrence or just an isolated incident. We weren't in a rush, so it worked out well for us, but I noticed that at least two tables had to wait quite a while before they could place their orders or receive their meals due to the slow service. Nevertheless, the staff did their best with the resources they had.

I wasn't actually planning to eat here but my wife pulled me inside, excited, because she has been wanting to try the place out, but hasn't been able to. I have to say my wife made an EXCELLENT call on this one. When I tell you that every was good, EVERYTHING was good. My wife doesn't even like chicken and practically destroyed one of my fried chicken sliders. Top notch cooking that feeds the body and the soul. Everything is cooked to order, so keep that in mind while waiting. You won't regret it.We took cheesecake home and it was still amazing even after sitting out for an hour or so. There's a nice wine selection and a great cocktail menu. I'm not too big on cocktails but will sip my wife's from time to time. I liked both cocktails and ended up ordering one for myself.I truly enjoyed the experience. Looking forward to coming back. Don't sleep on this restuarant y'all.Dine in experience was during a slow crowd.
We recently discovered a hidden gem in Greer, SC, and it turned out to be one of the best meals we've had in the area. Both dishes we tried were fantastic—lobster mac and cheese and Cajun pasta. I highly recommend adding some nice rolls or garlic toast to your meal, as you won't want to waste any of those delicious sauces!
Crate has incredibly friendly staff who offer outstanding service. I highly recommend the beef ribs, paired with yams and delicious collard greens. I will definitely be returning when I'm back in town!
The food is incredible! You absolutely have to try the crab cakes and bread pudding. Be sure to stop by—I consider it one of my favorites in Greer!
