The restaurant was very accommodating and the food was excellent! The menu offers a variety of choices with a modern twist. I travelled from East London to lunch with my friend. We booked a Sunday roast at The Star in advance. After a long wait, both dinners (Pork and Nut roast) arrived cold and looked very tired. We asked for them to be made warmer and they came back just lukewarm. My friend ate hers because she was so hungry. I returned mine and refused to pay. We already love our local pub so we hired the function room upstairs for my 40th birthday and had just the best night. Marco was so accommodating and the bar staff on the night were brilliant! We put on some sharing platters and the food was highly praised by our guests. Would highly recommend the pub and food but also the function room to anyone considering hosting a party.
I regularly eat Sunday lunch here and am always impressed by the friendliness and helpfulness of the staff and owner and, of course, the mahoosive, perfectly prepared, delicious Sunday Roast. Thank you. Oh yes, the coffee is excellent as well.

Went to The Star last night for the first time. We ordered a Calabrese and Mad Dog pizza, but I didn't realise they would be some of the most delicious, fresh, traditional Italian pizzas we have tasted. Everything about the place is lovely. The bar staff are lovely. Marco and a lad from Yorkshire. We can't wait to go back to see what the Sunday roast is like. We're taking my Cocker Spaniel next time; he'll love it in there. The pizzas are really reasonably priced.
Good food, good drinks (particularly enjoyed the Jack Frost Christmas cocktail). Enjoyably busy, understaffed but staff were efficient. Don't try and joke with the owner, he won't appreciate it. Other staff lovely.
