What Johnny A doesn't like about Old San Juan Grill:
Extremely disappointed. I didn't even get to try the food. The website says they close at 9pm. I arrived at 7:30 pm sharp and they tell me the kitchen closed. This was my first time and my last time here. It's sad because they're open. All signs outside show as open. Oh well. I walked next door to the sushi spot. My own Puerto Ricans let me down. Good: house margarita was very good. Right amount of tequila.Bad: no enchiladas on the menu. So I order a beef taco and 2 steak tacos. The beef taco was full of grease the meat wasn't drained. Also veryy salty. The steak wasn't good either.
Very friendly staff, and delicious authentic food. For appetizers we had empanadas and sweet plantains. For dinner we had tacos and Pernil Al Plato with tostones which were also delicious.
If you are in the area this is a must have. The best Puerto Rican food I've had since moving to NC! The owner and staff are great and the food was excellent.I had the Pernil Arroz con gandules, shared a sampler which was great.I will be back
