What User doesn't like about Kate's Cheese Co:
I had the written up Ewephoria sandwich...did not come Panini pressed as was expected as that is what I asked to the surly server and she said yes...took them 20 minutes to make and the place was empty...20 minutes is what they told me.. I did not wait in the dark cavern of a place... $24 dollars... No thank you.. View all feedback.
Not much happening here. I stopped by for some cheese and crackers and a bottle of wine to enjoy on the lawn of the park right behind by the water, but it was not the vibe I was expecting at all. None of those items were available.
I drove 90 miles from Brooklyn, NY, just for the incredible carrot cake, and let me tell you, it's the best you'll ever taste! Their Bloody Marys are really extraordinary as well. By the way, the owner, Kate, is such a delightful person to talk to!
My husband and I had a wonderful experience at Kates on Saturday when we reserved the Fondue Feast. The staff was incredibly friendly and knowledgeable, helping us choose the perfect wine to accompany our fondue and delivering excellent service throughout our meal. The food was not only delicious but also very generous in portion size. We’ve always dropped by Kates in the past to buy cheese, but this was our first time dining in, and we would highly recommend it to others! Just be sure to come hungry!
Was so excited to visit here because cheese and wine is 100% my thing and their cheese boards look incredible on Instagram. The staff was SO nice and went above and beyond to help us with our selections. We ended up getting sandwiches (which were really just fancy grilled cheeses and a cheese board. The cheeses were fantastic, especially the manchego (the Brie was minuscule! but the meats were just okay. It was prepared with dried fruits and nuts, nothing fresh, along with some stale toasted baguette slices which smelled and tasted heavily like truffle oil which really doesn't go with the cheeses/meats and kind of overwhelms the senses. I could not stop smelling it even when eating things that weren't the baguettes! Go for the experience and get a Mother Teresa sandwich because it's delicious... but you might want to save the money and pass on the cheese boards.
Absolutely perfect spot! Found this little gem while looking for a breakfast spot. Thought it was just a cheese shop but found a seat in the back and ordered a few delicious **** Mary’s and some very yummy sandwiches…..it was all amazing!Kate, the owner, is lovely. This is a MUST GO when in Greenport!
