Barba Bianca - GREENPORT
Barba Bianca
Description
A romantic waterfront gem on the North Fork, this chef-driven restaurant showcases outstanding seafood and Italian-inspired dishes—skate, oysters, lobster bucatini and fried zucchini blossoms shine—paired with inventive cocktails and silky panna cotta. Friendly, attentive service, thoughtful wine pairings and scenic dock seating make for a memorable meal, while bustling Friday nights add energy. Locally sourced ingredients elevate the menu; minor hiccups like an occasional undercooked pasta or hurried bussing don’t dim the overall charm of this must-visit spot.

The food was fantastic, and the service was very friendly. I highly recommend trying the Peel and Shrimp from the menu. The drinks were also excellent. Here’s a picture of the Lobster roll!
The atmosphere is incredibly romantic, especially if you sit outside on the dock. The food is fantastic, particularly the skate—it's a must-try! However, I had to give it four stars because the spaghetti (the spaghetti with lobster) was a bit undercooked. Overall, I'm really glad we discovered this hidden gem! Alongside the skate, I highly recommend the Flare di zucca and the duck prosciutto with fig appetizers, as well as the watermelon negroni cocktail and the panna cotta dessert, which is perfectly silky and sweet. The service was prompt and attentive.
Absolutely excellent! I chose this restaurant because of its creatively appealing menu, and I was pleasantly surprised by a delicious meal that transported me back to my recent trip to Sicily. After experiencing such a fantastic meal, it was no surprise to discover that there is a highly respected chef in the kitchen. What a real treat!
We ate at a busy Friday night at the bar and had no better experience. We started with absolutely fresh from the water that morning plump delicious oysters from Widows Hole, hardly a mile down the port. How local is that? The oysters are special on Friday night. Scungilli salad delicate and tasty, rabbits from this world, lobster with Buccatini had not been better. Staff friendly, service fantastic.
We're so glad we took a chance on this spot, despite some mixed reviews. Service was attentive and accommodating. The cured tuna and scungilli appetizers were generous and exceeded our expectations, while the gnocchi pomodoro and pasta with rabbit, peas and carrots, were both pleasingly filling pure comfort food. Finally, the panna cotta with stewed peaches was a perfect share to finish the meal. The only downside was the busser hovered very close, waiting for us to take a final bite before whisking the plates away. He even swiped my wineglass before I could ask for more! We would absolutely return to this beautiful waterfront restaurant on our next visit.
