The food was delicious, and the atmosphere was clean and inviting, with great service to match. Although it’s located in a strip mall, it was conveniently close to our hotel. I really enjoyed the crab bisque and French onion soup—they were both fantastic. The chicken parmesan was quite large, but the sauce had a slightly unusual flavor.
For the kids, there are plenty of good options, and the staff is also open to customizing dishes from the menu to accommodate their preferences. As a family returning to Rochester from Europe, we were particularly excited to try the local specialties: Artichoke French and Chicken French, both unique dishes that this region is known for. They did not disappoint—delicious and expertly prepared. We often evaluate a restaurant by its soups, which can reveal a lot about the kitchen’s attention to detail. Both the French Onion and Crab Bisque were bursting with flavor. The tomato sauce on the pasta dishes had that comforting, homemade Rochester taste that left us satisfied. The Ricotta Donuts—whose name eludes me at the moment—were incredibly delicious, a must-try Italian treat even if you’re already full. The portions are quite generous, perfect for sharing. The rich flavors reflect the longstanding history of this city, telling a story without words. Unlike other places where I might inquire about the local tales from the staff or owner, here it felt unnecessary—the flavors themselves conveyed the story. I highly recommend booking a table, arriving in a relaxed manner, parking to the side to avoid stress, and taking a leisurely stroll inside to experience something truly unexpected.
It seems like a great place for seniors to celebrate their special birthdays. I should definitely take my mother here someday; she might make some wonderful new friends. The food looks delicious and easy to chew, and I'm sure the flavors will appeal to their taste buds.
I had the beer battered fish. It was really good. Only thing I would of changed was having the fish cooked just a few minutes longer. The inside batter was a little gooey. The bottom was soggy from grease. He had chicken and greens. He said it was good. It was a ni e little place to go and relax.
Just had a wonderful lunch for a post funeral service. We had originally booked somewhere different, but after dinner in the original restaurant we knew we had made a mistake. I called Lamplighter and they were ready to help us with a last minute change. The food was delicious, the service was excellent and I cannot thank them enough. Thanks Lisa and staff!
