Food was very good service was economical, but okay.
Felt rushed. I left over most of the Onion Soup and the waiter didn't bother to ask why. It was tasteless. We were 2 women and I felt that that made a difference.
We went with friends and were glad that it was restaurant week. First we had to ask for the special menu which is always annoying. Either you a participant in restaurant week or you are not. Ordered mozzarella and tomato app. Literally was served one slice of each. Pathetic. Ordered rib eye which was a $10 upcharge. Steak was awful. My friend said hers was inedible. Mine was horrible as well. Desert was flavorless. Worst part was the service. None. Had to wait 30 minutes for table to be cleared after the main course. Plenty of great steakhouses in and around great neck. Avoid this one at all costs.
Had the salmon and hash browns. Requested salmon to be cooked medium to medium rare. It was served well done. Ask the waiter to replace. Second piece was served raw on this inside. Again, asked the waiter to correct. Salmon was then served perfectly. My issues: (1) it took 3x for them to get this right, (2) hash browns were left on the table cold, (3) waist staff was not apologetic and acted like I was an inconvenience to them. Given what happened, I think they should have offered a complimentary drink or dessert. I expect more from a restaurant of this caliber.
Be warned, portions are huge. Still trying to find the golden ratio of food (appetizer:entree:sides:desert) without feeling overcrowded. I skipped the appetizers. My wife skipped the main course. I ordered the bone in the main rib for two (which I shared perfectly with my son). My wife ordered the sushi roll (predicted they are thick and over a foot long). We ordered two sides (Trüffel fries big, and mushrooms so) that we split three paths. For the record, I wanted Brussel sprouts that I had before and are great, but was overtaken. Then we had cream brulee what was great. The result, I still ate too much. We needed a long walk after dinner. If I had to do, I would only get one side per three people or get my pride and get a doggy bag. As always, great service fun ambience.
