Marco's Pizza - Grayson
Marco's Pizza
Description
This Grayson Marco’s Pizza provokes split opinions: staff are often praised for friendliness, fast pickup and tasty items like wings and cheese bread, and online ordering is convenient. However, recurring complaints cite undersized or inconsistently baked pizzas, alleged food-safety lapses, unclean prep areas, and management/franchise miscommunication — including coupon and corporate-contact problems. Experiences range from excellent casual meals to cautionary reports of illness; diners are advised to double-check orders and exercise caution while many still enjoy the convenience and some standout menu items.

I requested my order as a curbside pickup, but after waiting for 10 minutes, I had to go inside to get it myself, which really defeats the purpose of the service. Additionally, when I asked for a Pepsi, they handed me a Diet Pepsi, even though regular Pepsi was in stock. I'm not even overweight; I’m active and healthy, so it's frustrating to be treated this way. Overall, it was a disappointing experience!
The staff at this restaurant location is outstanding; however, the management provided by the owners is lacking in support, coaching, and training. As a former employee, I have observed violations of Marco's chemical safety protocols, labor laws regarding minors, and other unethical practices. It is unacceptable for the owners to deduct pay for remakes from inexperienced team members. Employees deserve to be treated as valued individuals rather than mere cogs in a machine. The high workload and the owners’ treatment make it hard to justify the low wages. Taking responsibility for mistakes and seeking solutions is essential, rather than shifting blame onto others. It is unfair to penalize workers who are overworked, underpaid, and not appreciated. Despite these challenges, I am giving a 4-star rating because of the incredible talent within the team.
I've visited many Marco's Pizza locations, and this one is by far the worst. I don't mind service or atmosphere as long as the food is good, but unfortunately, it wasn't. The pizzas here are smaller and have fewer toppings compared to other locations. When I opened the box, I thought I had ordered a medium instead of a large. The pizza was inconsistently made, with random sections of thin crust and regular crust. Some bites were doughy, while others had only toppings or were all crust. Just take a look at the reviews—it's clear I'm not alone in this opinion. The pictures show pizzas that should have been a few inches larger to fit the box properly. My customization requests were also not followed, as noted in other reviews. I only adjusted the crust to add more seasoning. It seems like this location strictly adheres to corporate guidelines, likely cutting corners; if they have the option to provide more, they choose to give less. The high ratings for this place seem to be based on service and atmosphere, not on the food quality. I'd gladly drive a few extra miles for a better Marco's pizza elsewhere.
When I ordered a pizza bowl, which I have ordered several times before, it arrived a mess, and there was hardly any cheese. I called, and they refused to send a corrected dish. I drove out there to show them the bowl of sauce that I received, the manager told me that the cheese becomes TRANSLUCENT when it is covered in sauce. They gave me a new one that only had a little more cheese. I threw it away and ate a protein bar instead.
