Mixed reviews for Wimpy Lakeside: praised for friendly service, big burgers and fries; some customers report inconsistent food quality and occasional hygiene or service lapses.

Great, friendly attentive and polite staff. They take your order at the table like a restaurant/diner and served on crockery with cuttlery. It was Just as we remembered and as it should be (civilised) Drinks came quickly (in glasses) shortly followed by our food. Wow! The half pounders were huge and very filling and instantly it took us back to our youth. The milkshake was very thick which allowed the straw to stand up on its own. The chips/fries were crisp and hot. We thoroughly enjoyed the meal and a fantastic all round experience and service.

I have been visiting the Wimpy at Lakeside for years now. The staff is always friendly and the food is consistently delicious.

I went out for lunch with my mum, spur of the moment, and I have to say the staff were all so lovely and helpful! They couldn't do enough for you! The manager said they have recently hired a lot more staff, and everything was running so smoothly even though it was a very busy Sunday. The food was lovely and there wasn't a long wait at all, even if there was I wouldn't mind as every one was so nice. I looked on the lakeside website to leave a review too, if you can send me the link I'd gladly leave a review there too! Thanks to all of you today : xx

Wimpy at Lakeside Shopping Centre: My husband ordered a burger with chicken and a 1/4 pounder, but the chicken tasted boiled and the burger patty seemed pre-cooked and half raw. There was no seasoning used and the quick 3-minute service indicated the poor quality. My husband found it absolutely disgusting and couldn't even swallow it, leaving the whole burger uneaten. I had the bean burger which was also awful, leaving half of it uneaten as well. Wimpy should be ashamed of charging high prices for such low-quality food. If there was a zero rating available, it would still be too high, but we can only give it a 1. Stick to selling chips, Wimpy, because that seems to be all you can cook at the Lakeside branch.

I'm not much for a bad review or moaning about services and am quite understanding but I visited wimpy as I used to go as a child and loved it so much however, the staff were so rude. Didn't give you a lot of time to order your food, when asked to be given another minute one of the girls huffed and walked away. The girls spent the whole time sat at the counter, talking between each other and laughing all I could hear the entire time I was there bad customer service. When went to pay at the til, we was waiting 5 minutes for them to finish there conversation and serve us. When the food came out the only nice thing was the chips. The burger tasted like fake meat and was really dry. Overall there was two of us and we paid £36. Was definitely not worth the money. Horrible experience and would definitely not return.
