Nestled in a quaint, rural setting, this local bar offers an inviting atmosphere perfect for casual gatherings. Patrons appreciate the low-priced drinks and diverse food options that extend beyond standard bar fare, featuring dishes like Cuban subs and New York strips. While friendly bartenders create a welcoming vibe, recent experiences reflect inconsistencies in service, particularly with a few staff members. Smoking indoors and limited ventilation may deter some, but regulars enjoy the laid-back feel and camaraderie among the eclectic crowd. Despite ups and downs, many patrons continue to celebrate the sense of community, hoping for a return to its former charm.

Was Kim Zimmerman at Thoroughbreds a mag?
I drop in randomly in my barn attire for a beer. Always have a good time with patrons doing the same. Nothing fancy but always welcoming Bartender Penny is super! View all feedback.
What Andy Wagner dislikes about Thoroughbreds:
Smoking is allowed inside and with not much ventilation, definitely something to consider. Food is okay but done more as a typical small bar menu with a couple items that are quick and easy. View all feedback.
Our bartender, Sheryl, was fantastic! The food was absolutely delicious. I can’t wait to come back soon!
I recently enjoyed the best California cheeseburger I've had in a long time! It was delicious! Our waitress, Sheryl, was fantastic, and the fountain Coke was a perfect complement. Let’s support small businesses!
However, my experience tonight was disappointing. I brought four friends along and shared with them how much I enjoyed it here. Unfortunately, we encountered a very rude and impatient bartender who flat-out refused to serve us and asked us to leave. It struck me that she was likely a new bartender who had zero interest in our business. The turnover of bartenders seems to be high; if I recall correctly, there were only two who have been around since I started coming here, and one of them has now gone part-time. I’m not sure why there’s been so much turnover, but it’s quite disheartening. When I asked this bartender for her name, she snapped at me but managed to say it was Cheryl. I still enjoy the company of many familiar faces I met about a year ago, but even the regulars aren’t showing up as often. I will definitely give this place and Cheryl another shot, but if I have another experience like tonight's, I won't hesitate to check who’s bartending before deciding to return for a third time. I understand that everyone can have an off day, but I really miss the welcoming environment that made me love coming here in the first place.
Good food Beer was getting low on tap so the bartender gave us a drink on the house
