**Dining Dilemmas: A Mixed Bag at Local Restaurants**
In the vibrant culinary scene, recent experiences reveal a spectrum of satisfaction. While some patrons left disappointed by slow service and subpar meals, notably room-temperature steak and overpriced dishes, others celebrated remarkable brunches featuring standout offerings like the Mushroom Truffle Pizza. Many highlighted the attentive service and inviting atmospheres, creating memorable dining moments. Despite a few mishaps, including over-salted seafood and staff confusion, the overall sentiment leans towards optimism. Diners express a willingness to return, hoping for consistency in quality and a seamless experience, making local favorites worth another shot for discerning food lovers.

Bin 23 has consistently offered a calm and stress-free atmosphere, but the new bistro menu and full bar take it from good to exceptional. Jennifer was just as thrilled to have us as we were to be there; she was knowledgeable and a delight to talk to! I can't wait for my next visit.
That said, the food was still excellent overall. However, the profiterole pastry, which is usually one of our favorites, wasn’t as fresh this time. I want to highlight that our regular waitress has been exceptional, which is a big reason we visit so often. We really missed her during our last visit. Bin 23, it's essential to ensure that all your staff are on the same page in delivering a great overall customer experience. The details matter, especially since there are plenty of fantastic dining options in the area that have never disappointed us. We do plan to return to see if this was just a one-time issue. And by the way, where’s the French Scotch?
The wine selection was outstanding, and the food has really reached a new level. I ordered the salmon with beurre blanc, which was slightly salty, but overall, I would rate it five stars!

We had an incredible pre-Valentine’s Day dinner at Brasserie 23! From the moment we sat down, our server Braden made the experience truly special—he was so kind, attentive, and gave an excellent recommendation for the cheesecake, which was the perfect way to end the meal. Everything we ordered was outstanding—the steak tartare was fresh and flavorful, the salmon was perfectly cooked, and the entrecôte frites was hands down the best steak we’ve ever had. It was unbelievably tender, cooked to perfection, and paired with an incredible sauce that took it to the next level. The ambiance was warm and cozy, making it the perfect setting for a special night out. Having dined here before when it was Bin 23, we can confidently say that Brasserie 23 has truly elevated its game—perhaps a new chef is behind the magic? Whatever the case, the transformation is undeniable. Huge thanks to the chef for an absolutely fantastic dinner! We’ll definitely be back.
Brasserie 23 has become one of our go to's for everything from business lunches to date night. We love the beautiful aesthetics, French vibe, great service and delicious food. Highly recommend Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5
This was one of the best dining experiences I’ve had in a very long time. From literally booking the reservation to leaving the building it was truly amazing. My girlfriend and I wanted a classy upscale anniversary dinner and we got exactly that. When we made our reservation they even asked if it was a special occasion. Which they paid off at the end of our night. Beautiful atmosphere. Incredible menu. Out of this world cocktails. Brilliant and charming wait staff. It’s a place that is worth its price. The food quality is exquisite and locally sourced as well. At the end of the night they wished us a happy anniversary and gave us complimentary dessert and champagne! We will come back as often as our bank accounts will allow us.
Went here for the first time last night and it was amazing from start to finish. Pilar was our server. She gave great recommendations and was very attentive. We tried the deviled eggs, whipped feta, steak frites, salmon and cheesecake. The Hugo spritz was so delicious and refreshing. 10/10 Service: Dine in Meal type: Dinner

Fabulous service, food, and atmosphere. A great place to celebrate special occasions. Highly recommend!
The mains were tasty (chicken/puff pastry w perfectly prepared green beans) the profiteroles were fresh as can be! The service outstanding. I could eat here all the time.
Wow..this had to be one of the MOST disappointing meals I have had in a long time. I 'm not afraid to spend money but this meal should have been free TBH. We had a party of 10 5 of us with birthdays made an advance reservation in light of large party. Things started well but once the main course was served YIKES all of the food was lukewarm at best how long had it been sitting there? sauces and gravy literally congealed on most plates is there no plate warmer, food warmers or salamander? One of our party ordered the salmon dill dish had a dietary concern no pepper) no problem we were told only the ratatouille had pepper..and could sub out a vegetable later told oh, potato puree has white pepper ok, double the veggie then the salmon comes out literally a piece of salmon on a plate no veggie, no sauce, no garnish at all. Where was the sauce..oh, found out it had pepper in it but we were never told that until the single piece of salmon was brought to the table and salmon did not come out at same time as other entrees and the veggie came out even later. the puff pastry chicken and the chicken with noodles were also barely warm again, with congealed sauce as was the short rib....Duck breast did not have fat properly rendered second cup of coffee also came out cold???? No recognition for birthdays other than 2 signs on the table..no dessert, nothing. Caesar salad was weird with a cold hard poached egg. overall, an embarrassment to restaurant and me who selected this place based upon good reviews. I have NO idea what was happening in that kitchen but keeping food hot was certainly not part of it. They took the salmon off the bill as they should $31 for piece of salmon and a bit of asparagus brought out after the fact) and 15% off the total bill and then tried to sell us on their 'brunch ' no thank you while the appetizers and drinks were fine, pretty skimpy on the bread/crostini asked for more and they charged for it possibly?
Very poorly organized event. Very crowded, hard to even get a little sip of wine. And the food was very poor. Disappointed totally.
Was our first time and will give them another try, but service was pretty slow and not terribly attentive. Coffee drinks came out lukewarm, and two of our three orders came out almost cold. Food was pretty tasty otherwise although my son didn’t enjoy the rice noodle dish. Lovely restaurant… I’m thinking we may not have caught them at their best.

The service was incredibly slow. I tried to be understanding, considering the restaurant seemed to be short-staffed and had a lot of last-minute reservations. However, it would have been helpful to receive some sort of communication or explanation about the situation and the whereabouts of our server. We waited at least 30 to 45 minutes just for a glass of water and for our drink order to be taken, and it took over an hour before we could place our food order. When the food finally arrived, it was lukewarm and burnt on the outside. Our second round of drinks didn't come until after we'd finished our meal, and there was no acknowledgment or apology for these delays. Overall, this experience left a disappointing impression.
I really enjoyed the food, and our server was excellent! I will definitely return.
The servers were fantastic, and the food was excellent. The wine was enjoyable, but I would suggest that the Grey Goose martinis could be a bit more generous in size.
This restaurant in Mishawaka surpassed our expectations. The service was excellent, the drinks were outstanding, and the food was phenomenal!
This was my second visit to this restaurant, and unfortunately, the service was terrible. It took about ten minutes for anyone to acknowledge our table, and we waited an hour and a half after being seated to receive our entrees. The waitress appeared to be unaware of how long we had been waiting. While she was friendly, she never apologized for the delay. On a positive note, the food was excellent. It's a shame, as the quality of the food is quite good, but I don’t think it will be enough to make us return, given the poor service.

Brunch was delicious. Service was poor. They around us had much better service. Would come back, but would not sit with the same slow unattended server
An amazing experience. The menu was the perfect balance of options weighed against the idea of doing a few things very well. The food quality was amazing and the preparation was absolutely top notch. I wish it were a little less expensive, but your truly get what you pay for and, for a special occasion, this was worth every penny. I absolutely recommend the muscles. I’m shocked that they were so good given that we were in the Midwest. Ambience is beautiful. If you’ve tried it before and it was a mix menu of French and Italian, try it again. Night and day difference.
